NUS Extra / Cooperative Discount Problems

Has anyone actually managed to find a participating Cooperative store that knows anything about the 10% NUS Extra discount that was supposed to start on 23rd September?
I've been in 5 different stores, all on the participating list, but been given a variety of excuses as to why they are not offering the discount - don't know about it, doesnt start until October, only valid in Wales, don't have the card etc.
Been onto the cooperative several times who say its sorted but still unable to find a store that will honour the discount.
Feeling pretty let down by it given the numerous facebook & twitter posts advertising it.

I've had the student discount in 2 stores near my house (Wirral). They seemed confused initially but then brought out a box of barcodes to scan.0

Hey guys. We're really sorry you're having trouble redeeming the NUS extra exclusive student discount at your local Co-operative Food stores. Co-operative are a huge organisation, made up of individual autonomous socieities, each with their own communications systems and proceedures. It is an ongoing challenge for NUS extra and Co-operative Food, but we working closely with Co-operative Food to cascade this information across their estate. We totally understand your frustration. We appreicate your patience and understanding during this time.0

My local co-op eventually got sent another barcode (they need to scan this as part of your shopping to get the discount) - after managing to lose the ones they got sent! I have had to tell 3 subsequent staff how to do it, after one finally figured it out (after two failed previous attempts) recently. Nag them; have they seen any random little barcode cards - this is what they need! I know it may only seem a few pence, but if you use your co-op a few times a week, it soon adds up.0

I get a different member of staff every time I use mine and they never know how to use it, apparently they need to scan the barcode before subtotalling.
Not every co op is on the list though so you should check that yours is participating op.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -

Looks like there's no co op near me that does the discount. Hate when things are advertised then actually it's only certain stores that do it. I do understand how it works but it's still frustrating!NSDs 7/20

I tried to use my NUS card recently at Erdington (on the participating list, checked today). I was told I needed to purchase a voucher online giving me the right to have 10% off my shop. The woman couldn't tell me how much it'd be, and also tried to tell me I could only use it once!0
