Nokia phone memory prootected
My partner has a Nokia 2610 and wants to transfer the contacts to the sim so she can use the sim in a new phone. When we try to do this we get a message that the phone memory is protected. The memory has always been set in "phone and sim" but changing that makes no difference. The sim has a few contacts on it but most are in the phone memory. But the phone memory is not full. The security code 12345 doesn't work, but we don't recall ever changing it. The sim code works fine.
We took the phone to the Orange shop but they didn't have a cable for the phone and couldn't do any better than we did. They suggested the phone was faulty.
We've found the IMEI but this isn't about unlocking the phone so that doesn't seem it cover it.
All ideas welcome.
Thanks.

Does the phone have much in the way of web/email/exchange ability? You might be able to sync your contacts with Google, and then sync them from Google to your new handset.0

Sending contacts as vCards can be an option.0 -
Thanks. No connectivity except the phone itself. Might be able to send as vcards but only 1 at a time on this phone.0
