(from the book)
Here is this morning's entertainment (and breakfast): Egg and bacon cupcakes.
Recipe - dead easy! I think it might work better with ham though - the bacon was quite thick and hard to shape to the muffin tin.
I bought 6 rashers as per instructions but only used 3.
I cooked them for 10 mins instead of 15 - yolks were set but still yellow. This would be good for a picnic, but for breakfast I would probably take them out sooner so the yolk was still a bit runny.
If you did that you'd probably be better off making them on a day you're using the oven for multiple things - seemed wasteful heating it up for 10 mins!
I'll definitely make them again!

I don't think I could work my way through just one recipe book because I have too many recipes from different books that I want to try.
I'm up for a "try a new recipe a week challenge" if anyone else is?Yes I'm up for it !!........now to decide which one to try ...decisions decisions !I'm up for this! I was thinking about working through Plenty, but it's a Yottam Ottolenghi book so it's about as ambitious as you can get for getting hold of the right ingredients. I think I could manage just making one new recipe per week from anywhere though, then I might cope when I haven't got much time.downshifted wrote: »I too will do a recipe a week. I have made 2 new cake recipes recently, from a book I got in a clearance, a curry from a Sunday paper supplement and curried roast cauliflower from a supermarket mag. I couldn't do everything from one book as I like to be able to pick and choose from a wide range of sources.
Thanks for the replies! :T
Because this thread has gained interest again for cooking from just one book, and I don't wish to tread on jap200 toes, then I have started a new thread for the "Cook a new recipe per week challenge" here:

It turned out absolutely beautiful, a bit like a prawn korma. Everyone liked it, even me.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
