Sun Holidays Park resort additional charges

Hi has anyone else been asked to pay another £44 for electricity and an entertainment pass? which I have to pay in the next 2 weeks.

I think this is shocking but I cant cancel the holiday it says on the website there are absolutely no changes or cancellations, surely this is against consumer rights!

Anyone else experienced this?

Yes, lots of people have seen this.
    Just one recent example:
As well as saying 'no cancallations' in the T&Cs, it also says:
    17. Service charges are applied by some parks, others offer NO SERVICE CHARGE but Electricity/Gas is metered. Where applicable, service charges are per unit per night and are primarily to cover the cost of pre-arrival cleaning of your holiday home and include gas and electricity. Where this is not included, parks have coin meters or token meters. Tokens can be purchased at your park. Service charges range from £10 to £44 per holiday home per break and will be double for 7 night European breaks. Service charges will be charged direct to you by your park or operator in advance of your arrival.

These Sun holidays are not always as cheap as they seem.
We book direct with our chosen site online and through Quidco. That way everything is one price. Beds made up. Free electric and club pass.
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)
  • I own a caravan on park resorts and I've never seen an electric or gas meter attached to any caravan. I think if you didn't pay it the gas and electric would work anyway.

The entertainment passes though depends on what site you are going to. Mines on California Cliffs and I've never seen anyone there asking to see entertainment passes of people going in the clubroom. Up to you if you would take that risk.

I think you would need the club passes to use the pool?

Park Resorts we have been to are Camber sands in a Bronze caravan and Romney sands in a Gold plus. Both in Kent.
Both very nice. We holiday in May and September

Visited both Camber sands and Valley Park Clacton, both park resorts both asked us for passes for pool.
And Camber occasionally asked when going into the club in the evening, but you could avoid this by going through the chip shop.

BUT if you want to play bingo you need a pass!!!

Agreed and Linen is also an optional extra, so that charge can also be removed
