Just got this, 3 bed house with 2 adult. Seems quite high or am I deluded?

It is very high consumption.
The average is around 55 to 60 cubic metres per person, per year.
So 169 cubic metres for two people over 6 months is about 3 times average consumption.
You should check for leaks. Inside the house the main culprit is the cistern leaking into the bowl(silently).
For outside leaks, shut off water at main stopc0ck and check meter doesn't move.0 -
Check it's an actual meter reading. If it's estimated then it'll be based on the previous occupiers usage or what they think they think the usage could be for a 3 bedroom house when fully occupied.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

Looks very high to me. We use about 80 cubic metres per 6 mth period, 3 adults in a 3 bed house.
Are these both actual meter readings, not estimates? Is it a new meter?0 -
its an actual reading.
used the sprinkler on the lawn for a about 3 weeks but didn't think that would have made that much difference.0 -
its a new'ish meter. installed just over a year ago0

3 weeks...how many hours? A sprinkler uses a cubic metre of water per hour. It makes quite a big difference...let the lawn die back. It'll come back just fine when the next rain comes.its an actual reading.

Was the 53 reading 6 months ago an actual meter reading too?:footie:

First reading looks very low then, if there are two of you and it was for 6 months.
Was the first bill less than you expected?0 -
not sure about the 53 reading could have been an estimate.. we weren't living there fully as doing renovations.
re: sprinkler, it was new turf, 2/3hrs a day for 3 weeks.Looks like that might have been the culprit.0
