Hi,
have just received a free On demand box. Problem is my router is in one room, and sky box in another (30 feet away). I need something to connect the two. (Cable suppliedis 8" long !). Any ideas/cost for a lead. Don't really want to go down the route of wireless/magic eyes/gizmos, just a lead (HDMi ?)
thanks

You would need a CAT5/6 ethernet cable (not HDMI). A neater (but more costly) solution would be a pair of powerline ethernet adapaters.0

Agree, as above. I went down the home plug route to bring connectivity around my house.
Simple solution and since the home plugs plug into electric sockets, very flexible too. I used them for a few years now, no complaints - plug and play.
You need a pair to get you started: one hooked up to the router and the other to the kit you want connecting to the 'net.

Good luck.

Our on demand connector came yesterday. No problems connecting wirelessly, on demand works perfectly but when we're downloading any programmes, the wireless connection with the laptop is lost. Anyone any ideas what to do ? Do we need a new router ?0

We bought some power line adapters too.
We bought cheap 200mbps ones; fine for an internet only ethernet link and no advantage in buying the faster ones.0
