I would recommend Maxine at Parsons and Parsons. After my mastectomies I was given a list of recommended bra fitters. I went to Jean in Pretty Woman in the Castlecourt and whilst the fitting was okay the surroundings were not. You are put into one of those little cubicles with the curtain on it. They really were not designed for two people and consequently the curtain would gap leaving you on view to the shop. The service was also rushed.

Debenhams do not have a trained bra fitter at present and M&S Belfast was taken off the hospital list.

Parsons and Parsons also have the curtain cubicles but they are a lot larger and both of us fitted ino it with no difficulty. Also (and this is probably because of my circumstances) Maxine asked the other staff member to leave and not let anyone into the lingerie area. I was seated and Maxine really went out of her way to make sure I not only got a well fitting bra but also something pretty and feminine to make up for all the 'Doreens' I had to wear. Maxine works part time so you need to phone and check when she will be there.

    Outside Belfast...

Menarys Bangor, they have a good fitter there, can't remember her name, sorry. Again she took her time and was willing to run around the dept trying to find the perfect bra for me.

Menarys Newtownards - no one trained.

Alan Espy, Newtownards. The girl there is not trained but again she is willing to to all she can to see you get a bra that fits properly.

All the shops had a good selection of sizes, brands and designs. Menarys Bangor and Parsons and Parsons were willing to order bras in different colours.

Definately go to Maxine first though.

I'm pretty sure I'm wearing the wrong size bra, but keep getting told the same size by M&S. Trusted them for awhile, but the more I read suggests their fittings are really not very accurate. So I'd ideally like to try a few different places, but can't find many in Belfast. There's Pretty Woman in Castlecourt, any other suggestions? Thanks!
Goodness sake if all else fails I'm prepared to give a hand ..... or two! ;)

I'm not sure about Menarys, I'm only 23 and probably not bigger than a D, DD maximum. It's just when I think of Menarys, young and sexy aren't the first things that pop into my head. Sorry!! I'm already tired of wearing sports bras all the time (because they somehow fit better) so definitely looking for something pretty. I'm about one more badly-fitting bra away from just going to London and having Bravissimo sort me out!

Ooh, I just got my first star! :)

Speranza I know how you feel about Menarys too. I'm 25 and I swear they are brilliant and they have some great 'sexy' styles, well I've no complaints and I've been known to wear risky tops , plus the ex never had any complaints

Another place the try is La Senza. I got a really nice bra there for my 30 !!!!!! and the support is excellent. Give up on sports bras. For boobs that remain north of your navel it has to be underwired every time!
The Freya and Fantasie ranges are the best for bigger boobs. They have gorgeous styles, the support is great but they are expensive - about £35 a bra. Still, it's worth it. Also go for balconette styles. They look best under clothes.
