Bra fitting in Belfast

I'm pretty sure I'm wearing the wrong size bra, but keep getting told the same size by M&S. Trusted them for awhile, but the more I read suggests their fittings are really not very accurate.
So I'd ideally like to try a few different places, but can't find many in Belfast. There's Pretty Woman in Castlecourt, any other suggestions? Thanks!

Harland and Wolff shipyard have all sorts of heavy lifting gear, they built the Titanic so a bit of bra fitting should be simple enough0 -

I empathise OP. I'm a 30 F/FF and went to M&S to be told I was a 34 D or something ridiculous. They only fit you to their bras and they don't go below 34" I believe. Debenhams are pretty good and Pretty Woman in Castlecourt have the odd good fitter but it can be hit and miss. If you're ever in Dublin Arnotts do a really good range and they do fittings too.Stercus accidit0

Thanks, I'll give Debenhams a go since I'll be in there anyway. If that fails, it'll be H&W I suppose.

I too think M&S are useless, their sizings don't even seem to bear any resemblance to anything else on the market. They equate big sizes with broad backs and, like Leftie, I am a lady with a big front but a small back !!
Pretty Woman can be pretty good, but I would also really recommend the Bravissimo mail order catalogue. They have loads of fitting advice in the catalogue (e.g. they will let you know if a particular manufacturer's sizes are a bit smaller than standard) and you can talk to them over the phone too. You can return unworn bras, so you can try on as many as you want in the privacy of your own home, and try them under different clothes etc to check the fit. I would really recommend them. They make you feel normal, and that having curves is not something to be laughed at or ashamed of.
To be honest I am very nervous of fittings in shops as I have had some very insensitive comments in the past. When I was a teenager I was hugely affected and upset about my size. I went to Pretty Woman for a fitting and some old biddy got her tape measure out, measured me, tutted and said 'well, you can hardly expect to get a pretty bra when you're that shape'. I cried for a week and got referred for breast reduction surgery, which changed my life. I'm still a big girl, just not as big as I was. Now, I'm shapely, not freakish!0 -
I read a which! survey on this. They couldn't in the end up recommend a best buy because all of the services were crap. They'd been to all of the main retailers too. Their advice was to just keep trying them on till you found one that fitted. Most shops will let you leave a few extra with the changing room person which gives you more than their standard no to try on. This has worked for me. BTW I've never been impressed by the Pretty Woman staff personally, they always seem to be a bit snotty to me. And don't go to debenhams on a sat or sun if you can avoid (or go very early) - the changing rooms are a disaster, you can queue for twenty mins.
Good luck. If you get good service please let us know.0 -
