A few years ago i had a pair of numberplates made,if you have ever seen them being made they work from the back and stick the leters and numbers in mirror fashion,so this fella mixed two letters round, now, if you did'nt notice this you would never get a camera ticket again.

No - the liability would be on your shoulders. Driving around with fake number plates....

Isn't it better to just slow down for Gatso's? :)

After all we all know where they are usually, and now they're painted yellow even when in a strange area, they stick out like a sore thumb.

Would be nice if there was a device that could remotely crash a mobile camera van's electrical bits anyway! THEY'RE the buggers that are reaping in the revenue thrugh fines and stuff, sitting hidden away until its too late. Luckily I've yet to be trapped by a [cough] safety van [cough!!!]

(safety as in "make all the cars do emergency stops = "safe" *sigh! )

Actually, they don’t benefit financially from catching speeders. The fine money from the tickets goes straight back to the treasury.

They also have to choose a road where there has been more than 4 speed related deaths in the past 3 years, and where more than 20% of drivers speed. Then they’ve got to choose their spot, get it approved, then put signs up and wear high-vis jackets. If you see a mobile unit, you know you are in an accident blackspot, and shouldn’t be speeding anyway.

And most of the times the locations are available online (at least for Leeds/Bradford, but I think it may be dependant on the force).

I’ve got an eBook with all the info you need, in depth knowledge on the cameras, what to say/do when you’ve been caught and what to say in court to get you off. I won’t post the link, but PM me with your email address and I’ll send you a copy.
