so that is a good result, and fair play to the water company for listening.
I really hope this helps someone else because clearly if you have valid case they do listen.
Thank you
Well done. I am sure Samsmoot will endorse your sentiments about the water company;)0 -
its just a thought - but this happened with my SIL, she moved into a new build and a few days later we visited her - OH works for a water company and went outside to check the meter. she would have owed them hundreds! it was the water supply for the entire site! this doesn't help you much I know - but its a cautionary tale for people moving into new builds! make sure you check your meter and give the reading to the builders and copy it to the water company!0

HIP HIP HOORAY!
...but wait a minute...that's £460 which remains unpaid...that's going to cost the honest consumers (like yourself) money...
That just illustrates the problem with the way water companies are financed.
Ofwat allow the company to raise £xxx Million in revenue, and make £yy Million profit.
So it doesn't really worry the water company if the OP pays them £zero or £10k as it won't affect their 'bottom line'.
That presumably is why you are not being pursued over your unpaid bills.0 -
Maybe that, plus South Staffs have a weak enforcement policy.0
