I meant the reference number. It's okay I think I corrected it online now it hadn't finalised. However they will get an email too, saying it was wrong. Blimey. You know what I could self combust with stress right now. I only noticed because I got it printed off and then decide to submit online as they say it is easier. Then noticed on the print off that the PCN reference number was wrong. She said I couldn't mail it as there is no application form, which UKCPS should have sent. I haven't heard anyone mention this. Should I have had an application form?0

No, a PPC can either send you a form OR tell you how to appeal to POPLA online.
But it sounds as if this has worked fine - does the acknowledgement from POPLA show your whole appeal was included (not chopped off at the bottom or anything?). If it's all displayed back to you then it's in!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well the bad news was. As a result of things,I ended up needing surgery on 4th November. My Dad was admitted to hospital that same week and died on 6th November. He hated that I was upset when I got the ticket and offered to pay. Money was not the issue, I was upset to be duped. He didn't think I'd win at appeal but now here's the better news....and I so wish he was here so I could tell him, he'd be proud and made up.
I got a distinction in my exams. Also (thanks to you guys) we won this appeal. It seems small good news in the scheme of things but I cannot tell you how much I needed it, and how much your kindness meant when I needed it most. To have not won at this time would have been the last straw.....I will read it again but the 'pre-estimate of loss' seemed to be the winner this time.
Huge thanks. Couldn't have done it without you lot.0 -
shame about your father, my condolences !!
but glad to hear that you won with the advice from here, please post a copy of the verdict up, with your personal info blanked out so it can be added the the successful POPLA appeals thread
once again , well done , yes he would have been proud with your achievements despite the several setbacks0 -
Condolences on your sad loss, well done on your exam results, and well done on winning your appeal.
I am sure your Dad is proud of you.0 -
There are times when we could do with a simple "like" button.
This is one of them. :T0 -
This from UKCPS's web site:-
Additionally with a high rate of success at POPLA (the independent appeals organisation) we are proud to lead the way in providing an ethical and fair service to our clients and the general public.
Well wrong on two counts. They are not ethical, and I don't think they are winning many POPLA appeals.
Well done to you and condolences on your loss. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Thanks. It's been the toughest few months.
Is there an easy way of copying a PDF file to share the letter?
I wondered of it might be an idea to edit or do a new thread with the relevant information to help others and less of the emotive stuff? It'd be great for this to help others and spurn folk on but maybe make it easier?0 -
Yep you can post the decision in a reply in the 'POPLA decisions' sticky thread near the top, have a look how people show their victories! You can also add a link to this thread for people to read if they want more details and to see your appeal wording used.
Just post the URL to the PDF, in a reply there or copy & paste the wording into a reply on that sticky thread.
Well done, knew it should win but very glad it did. So sorry to read about your Dad as well. He would be proud of you for seeing this through to a win before the year is out. Nice result.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@billybumble. I've just got in and noticed your thread had reappeared on the first page.
First off, the important bit, I'm so sorry to hear about your father and I send my sincere condolences.
Secondly, really pleased about your distinction in your exams.
And finally, brilliant news on your appeal. The regulars who contributed to it, I'm sure, felt more committed to getting you through this than with most posters we help, especially given the problems you were experiencing at the time and the pressure you were under. I'm so glad to have been a part of the team helping you.
When I read you'd won your appeal, I did something I've never done before in respect of a winning case I'd previously helped with. I actually punched the air and said a very satisfying 'Yes, we did it'.
I must learn to calm down :rotfl:
Glass of wine time (you can have one too !!).
