    Morning everyone,

HH Good luck back at work.

    Molly, LW, Hilstep Hugs.

I am at home today as I am on strike, I didn't vote to strike but I am of the opinion that you do what your union tells you to do even if you disagree with it.
I am actually going to spend the day catching up with my marking, so hope fully some children will benefit.

I am also going to fit in a visit to the supermarket, when I can get my car back from DS!

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Not much OS but quickly popping on to sayGlitterkitty I saw Huey a few years ago, I didn't realise they were touring the UK <stamps foot> I want to go. I agree they are absolutely fantastic and they never want to end the show :T

Last day of my parents here. Wet and dull so gonna take them to local farm shop for a browse and coffee. Car having full service and repairs so that needs to be dropped at garage too.

Not decided on tea tonight, might do some sausage.

Hugs and spoons all round xx

Go Hester......Go Hester......... Good luck today xx

My Mum was most disgruntled when my Dad retired. She said that she needed to retire too from housework and suddenly stopped until he started to share the household tasks:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Stressful day today - meeting with college for youngest son as he has been unable to attend because of his illness and depression :(

    Hugs x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Good morning everyone

Pinch punch 1st of the month and no returns!:rotfl: It's a lovely autumn morning and still haven't put the heating on. It's actually very mild and I'm sat here with just a nightshirt on. I do have an evil kitten on my lap too so it's a fat, purry, furry hot water bottle :D.

Went to a meeting last night at DD10s school as they are planning a residential trip to London next June. It sounds absolutely amazing and they are packing in so much stuff to do including a trip on the Eye and a West End show. I've already started a savings account to pay for it ( an extremely reasonable £150) although I'm not sure if it will go ahead as we are in a pretty deprived area with high unemployment and a lot of parents just don't have the money. Oh well, fingers crossed it will happen. I've worked out it's 30 weeks till the trip has to be paid for so it means saving £5 a week which I hope is possible for most mums and dads.

I'm going to be cooking a shoulder of lamb using my slow cooker setting on my oven. A friend gave me some fresh rosemary and garlic and I've bought a little bottle of red wine to pour over it. My hubby was salivating thinking about it this morning :rotfl::rotfl:. I made a chicken curry last night which was lovely and I have a little bit saved for lunch with a jacket potato.

I am off to weightwatchers tomorrow but I'm not feeling very enthusiastic as I'm 'Riding the Hormone Highway' this week. Oh well, it just means next weeks loss will be better. I always gain between 2-5lb this time of the month...it's really annoying but that's just the way it goes. Other than that, I've actually been pretty good at choosing healthy options and I even passed on dessert at the church meal on Sunday :A.

Hope everyone has a great day, especially NAR on his first day of retirement. Thinking of TTFTM and Hester too, hope your working day is bearable. Gentle hugs for all who would like one, and a special one for Molly.
    Cheers m'dears x

    Morning all,

Out with the pup shortly but have spent this morning trying to direct the plasterer to the job DH is on.DH forgot his phone  so I answered it.The house is in a bit of a no mans land regarding the sat nav and he was lost. Luckily it's the area where I grew up so was able to direct him but its taken half an hour of phone calls back and forth-told him to tell DH he's a pi!!o** :D.
Bargain Bird-do you like your new haircut?
Bitsy-hope DS enjoyed his birthday, enjoy the day with Mum & Dad.
TTFTM & HH-good luck for today.
    NAR-Happy Retirement

Tea tonight is a small gammon joint but DS1 will have something else as he hates it.Don't know why as he loves bacon ;)
It's a bit dull & cooler today, still dry as yet tho'.I made 2 cards yesterday and got them posted off but didnt get round to sewing as my 2 walks with Lyla took so long because people kept wanting to make a fuss of her :D I took her on a path by a horse in a field and she was petrified -it's all new to her.
House still tidy,I've told the menfolk they have to make it stay that way as there is another open viewing day in a fortnight. No feedback from the estate agent re Sundays viewers, why am I not surprised.

    Ok,off out,have a good day everyone.x

Pinch punch and and all that. October already can't believe it.
Have been in agony with knees for the last few days so doped up with tramadol and slept a lot of the time, still sore today but it is bearable. I am going to try and push the consultant in February to put me on the surgery list.

Not much doing so I will get some more crafting bits done today, otherwise I will be climbing the walls with boredom.

    TTFM chin up girl x

Hester Let them have it with both barrels :rotfl:

Will try to pop back later so BFN x

    Morning All,

Thank you all so very much for your good wishes and advice. I intend doing very little this week, so I can adjust to my permanent holiday status! :D
Presentation party in work yesterday went very well and our top boss, who I have worked with on and off for the last 24 years, spoke very highly of me which was very nice.

TTFTM - hope the redundancy meeting brings something positive to the table.
JackieO - I don't intend going to seed and thanks for advice.
Hester - good luck for your return to work. I would never criticise my OH, I am not worthy! ;)

Lashing rain here so no gardening for me today! :j

Have my DGS here this morning and bless him he doesn't understand why I am not at work! Playing "shop" with him and I will be delighted to bring him to Nursery School at 12.30.

Have a good day everyone

*Chants Cheerleader style*: Go, Go JackieO:D I so agree, I'm not one for being plonked in front of daytime tv and left to vegetate. I got medical retirement when I was 41, but had been on sick leave for 2 years prior to that; I'm so glad I got pointed in the direction of the dog-sitting opportunity, the dogs keep me from going out of my skull!:o It's a nause not being able to go anywhere because of needing assistance, but I do use my intelligence to try and find ways of tackling tasks I can no longer go in the "conventional" way iyswim.:o
After that I'm off to work where I shall cause chaos, I want desks moved as I'm no longer delivering work. I'm laying it out for people to collect, I also need my heater replaced, it fell off the wall at the end of last summer, but the machines won't work if the paper gets too cold and damp. So I'm also going in to work with my big girl pants on and start laying down the law.

To ensure I look as brave as I feel I've treated myself to some new clothes and underwear, size 14!
You tell 'em Hester. And do not take "no" for an answer.:o

Dead right - if they're going to be in the house all day, they need to help maintain the place.;) Luckily Mr LW is really good at this (though he doesn't always do tasks to my satisfaction, but I don't tell him, I just come behind him and re-do them if needed).

Posi-vibes where needed - TTFTM and Molly come immediately to mind.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
