I've found that old makeup, half used aftershave/perfume, make up brushes, free samples from magazines go really really well! I put them all in a box and let people rummage. any kind of cosmetic stuff goes well including creams, lotions and potions, old gift sets...Anything! Why not offer it for sale... people wont buy if they don't too. Personally I'd never buy old make up but some do.

  • I'd buy unopened stuff from a car boot sale but the thought of using someone else's makeup leavings makes my skin crawl.
I would't even buy open perfume as I remember reading somewhere about someone selling perfume and they had wee'd in in to top it up....

Most of my itens are nail polishes (No 7 that I've bought with £5 free coupons) and the oldest is probably less than a year as I off loaded loads to my nieces when they last stayed over.

I wouldnt put lipsticks or mascara in as I tend not to keep them anyway but thought I might be able to get rid of some of my lotions I've bought in the hope that I'd lose years and cellulite!

Thanks for your opinions, I think I'll give it a go and just clearly label the box to say everything has been either opened or used and ask a reasonable sum for each item. If I bring it home - I havent lost anything.

    Thanks again.

I am starting to get things together for my second car boot sale and have quite a lot of used cosmestics (mainly nail polishes but have MIRACLE lotions and potions :rotfl: ) that need to go.

Do people sell used cosmetics at boot sales or should I just offer them open to nieces etc and then throw away the unwanted ones?

    Opinions appreciated.

    Cheers:beer:

i have seen them at car boots but run a mile when it comes to buying them. I would rather pay full price knowing the item is brand new and wont bring me any undesirable effects
Need to get rid of my Yankee Candle Habit, Not very money saving of me :)
