Can you delete this post for me im getting more hassel than enough , supposed to help not stress out n be made out to be thick .0

You are not thick, you just got caught out, unfortunately that's why it's important to read all the small print. It seems you have booked the holiday and agreed to the terms and conditions. It's still not a bad price. Maybe you could appeal to there better nature, admit your mistake and see if you can downgrade to self catering, that should claw back some of the money. Good luck.0

I agree, the OP is asking for help and all of those who have been on a £9.50 holiday (including me) should be able to help them.
The person might have gone now but if they are still reading this I would ask them to check whether they have received an invoice which is asking for payment for FUTURE items....
Service charge (Compulsory)
Linen (Optional)
Entertainment Passes (Optional)
Upgrades (Optional)
Additional items (Optional) e.g. cot hire, high chairs, heaters - NOTE - THESE COME WITH AN ADDITIONAL DEPOSIT REQUIREMENT.
If it is an invoice they should just ring up and tell them that they don't ANYTHING other than the service charge....so no need for the linen, entertainment passes or any of the upgrades or additional items.
The original poster might be stating that they want the £39.90 back because they don't want to pay anything more than this amount. However this amount really is non-refundable because the service charge is always compulsory and there is no way around this at all.
But getting the invoice reduced by removing all the optional items will mean they only have to pay about £30 for the service charge which covers gas, electric and water. A big difference to the £200+ they have been invoiced for at the moment.0 -

According to the T&C's for the offer, the £9.50 price did not include any food, so you could not have had a half board deal for this price.
The cheapest HB deal would be an extra £11.50 per person per night and may have been as much as £15.5015. These are self-catering holidays. No meals are included in the price, except on catered holidays where breakfast and evening meal are included for supplements of between £11.50 and £15.50 per person per day, based on four
people sharing.
Once you include bed linen and service charges, this could easily account for the rest of what you had to pay.

16. Bed linen and blankets are NOT included at any of the holiday parks
within this promotion. Most parks offer bed linen and blankets for hire at a
very reasonable cost and these can be booked and paid for in advance direct with
your park or park operator. Most tent accommodation includes pillows and
blankets but please check with your park/operator. A charge for cots, cot sides,
high chairs and bed linen, if required, will be made by your park. This will be
payable at your park as applicable.
17. Service charges are applied by some
parks, others offer NO SERVICE CHARGE but Electricity/Gas is metered. Where
applicable, service charges are per unit per night and are primarily to cover
the cost of pre-arrival cleaning of your holiday home and include gas and
electricity. Where this is not included, parks have coin meters or token meters.
Tokens can be purchased at your park. Service charges range from £10 to £44 per
holiday home per break and will be double for 7 night European breaks. Service
charges will be charged direct to you by your park or operator in advance of
your arrival. For European parks you may also be required to pay a refundable
cleaning/damage waiver deposit on arrival at your park (please see 13)0 -
I think the OP won't be looking at this thread after yesterday which is a pity.
The initial price they paid will be correct - 4 x £9.50 plus £1.90 for the initial booking charge = £39.90.
The advice they have got from the Newspaper/BreakFree holidays will be correct i.e. you cannot get this refunded as it is non refundable once paid for.
But the OP just needs to know that they don't have to pay the whole £200+ which they have been invoiced for direct by the holiday resort. To repeat, they just need to contact them directly and get the options taken off and the invoice recalculated.
Hope they do have another quick look here.0 -
more like:
reader didn't read anything, and figured they would get 4 peeps on a weekend break half board for £9.50 each because they read big letters only.
Sun/Mail breaks always show the figures as £9.50 each
+ service pp + entertainment pass (if applic) + linen (if applic) + upgrade cost if chosen + half/full board (if applic).
I'd say, a totally useless post and should be deleted already!
Was that attitude really called for? The OP came here for help, not to be insulted.0
