Leaving Sky Question

We are currently approaching the end of our 12 month sky half price contract in December. If we leave sky after the contract has expired do they still take the Sky+ plus box away or do we keep that. Also do the freeview channels remain?

No, the box was yours was day one. It's not leased.
No, you can't get any Freeview channels via a Sky dish. Freeview is a terrestial service via an aerial. You will receive all the FTA channels (Freesat From Sky).
However the PVR functions of the box will cease to work, and you will lose access to pre-recorded material once your sub ends.
If you want PVR functions then buy a Freesat PVR and switch to Freesat instead-it's a straight box swap.No free lunch, and no free laptop

IIRC , you can cancel your package with them but pay £10 a month and that will allow you to record the FTA channels. Otherwise I would go with macman and buy a Freesat with PVR.0

Insane to pay £120 a year forever just for the PVR functions. A Humax Freesat box would pay for itself in about 18m.
Edit: I think it's now £10.50pm?No free lunch, and no free laptop

Well me and OH are moving out of my OH's parents and the box will stay with them, they tend to like some of the asian free channels which I'm not sure will be available under freesat? (don't really know too much about freesat). How much do these retail for?0

Take out the viewing card and see if you still get the channel. If you do then it is free to view.YNWA
