Hello! I am catching an early flight with Easyjet from Gatwick airport in a few weeks time  and want to stay there overnight to make it a bit easier.
I know lots of people do this and am just looking for tips!
Any recommendations on somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay?:money:
Is it a good idea to leave a car there for 2 weeks or leave it at home/ what is the best company to do this with?
Also I heard someone say something about being able to check in the day before at Gatwick, is that only specific airlines or flights? Im not even sure what to google to try and find the answers haha Id be lost without these forums
I usually fly from stansted so dont have to worry about any of this
Thank you guys :T

I always look at http://www.holidayextras.co.uk/ for hotel + parking deals. If you are only going to be at the hotel one night and spend most of the time asleep then it doesn't really matter that much what services they offer. Just check whether transfers are included or not.
In addition there are two Travelodges at Gatwick which don't tend to show up on the price comparison sites.0 -
Gatwick Central Travelodge is excellent...
http://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/517/Gatwick-Airport-Central-hotel
Next stay is on 8 November. Paid £21 for a double, and prebooked dinner @ £9.95pp for a 2 course dinner + a pint.
We don't use their parking as we always travel up from Pompey by train (usually £5 each, each way).
Transfer to the airport takes 5 minutes (North Terminal), 10 minutes (South), either by Hoppa or Metro Bus (Service 100).0 -
Have a look at this post, there's a few ideas on it

We usually stay at a B&B on Massetts Road, Horley
There's lots of choice, we like Acorn Lodge.
You can walk into Horley centre where there are Indian, Chinese, Italian, Tapas restaurants as well as a few pubs doing food, including a Wetherspoons (The Jack Fairman).
We find it's a nice way to start our holiday.
You can either just book a room or they also do a parking & overnight stay as a package.
And they take & collect you from the airport.0 -
Premiere in Gatwick is cheap and convenient, and you can check your luggage in the night before.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

another vote for the Gatwick Central travelodge, very easy to find, cheap rooms, and you pre-book parking after you book the room. Weigh up the price difference with a park and hotel package though, as at the Travelodge you need to pay for a shuttle bus to the terminal, which may be included in other deals.0

Thanks everyone for your help I will have a look at Travelodge now x
Id seen one from holiday inn "Park Stay & Go 15-Day" it says £115 for the night and 15 days parking (not sure yet if that is reasonable pricing) says in big letters they might move your car into an overflow if they need to, but I drive a Fiat Cinquecento so I wouldnt be too worried about possible damage hahaHas anyone stayed here?

We paid £99 for one nights stay at Gatwick Premier Inn and two weeks parking, on September 8th, on their Park and Fly package. I thought that was a good deal and it was all very easy. We'd definitely use them again.0
