  • I tend to read some of them throughouly but if it's posted my Kipper or someone else who I trust I just enter away.

Another quick question for everyone, what ONE thing would you really like to win & why? For me at the moment although a nice amount of money would be lovely I really want to win a Nintendo DS for my DD's birthday.

I've somehow lost my mobile phone which is the number i give out for the competitions - i'm still hoping it will turn up somewhere. If i win a competition where they normally ring winners would they try and email me or send me a letter - i always provide all contact information or would they give the prize to someone else?
Thankyou to all the posters of competitions

If they normally just ring I wouldnt have thought that they will go to all that much trouble to try and contact you by another way

You could get the number transferred to a different sim card

I read them except if they are very long with Terms and conditions etc. Despite this I have missed something on a very short email and been corrected by you.

I only enter comps for something i want to win, or could be useful. For example i dont enter comps for tickets to concerts, or holidays for 2 people.
I tend to read about the comp, but not the T & Cs, and if anything is posted under the OP, i read those, to see if there is something i should know before entering!

    I have a similar approach...
    1. Find the last post I read then ctrl+click on all the threads for say an hours worth
    2. Goto each tab, see if I want the prize or if it could goto a family member
    3. Once it is read, (whether I enter or not) I click 'Thanks' so I know I have already read & either entered or chosen not to
    4. Then close that tab & move to the next comp
    5. When I run out of tabs, select another 1 hours worth of threads & repeat process (I'm usually around a day behind!)
I've only been looking in here since 12th July when it came out on the newsletter & have entered around 30 a day since then. Have to say a big thanks to all the competition posters - without your answers I wouldn't be able to enter a lot of the ones I do, so
    :T:T Thanks! :T:T
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

i've just starting comping too (just started this week!) not kept a record of what i've entered, but i've just kept a record of all the places that i have had to register with first, like Loreal, national geographic etc, as i know i'll forgot all my passwords in an hour:D

I have a seperate password (one that means absolutely nothing, but is always the same) that I reserve for any sites that I register with solely for the purpose of entering a comp or grabbing a freebie from.

That way if I need to go back to it, I instantly know the password, & it's nothing like the passwords I use for my email account, & the like. :)

Good luck with your comping, to you all the other comping newcomers. :T I'm relatively new(ish) to it, I've been comping for about a year, but I don't enter that many at the moment, due to lack of time.
:):D Tightwad. And proud of it! :D:)

When entering comps do you think it makes a difference to your chances of winning if you opt out of any emails from the comp sponser or their partners ? I know it shouldnt.

I always opt out as I already receive copious spam emails from giving it out when entering comps or signing up to news letters..
