just wanted to issue a warning. I am currently being bombarded by e-cards which purport to come from a friend or a colleague or family member. They will contain an attachment which sometimes claims to be a pdf, sometimes a card or sometimes pretending to be an invoice. I indadvertantly opened one of these and unleashed a Trojan virus which fortunately my firwall isolated.
I don'tn know why this has recently increased but I do connect it with my comping activities which make me more vulnerable. I now delete anything I don't recognise which has any attachment or link. Please be careful.0 -
I recieved a phone call today from studio 64 saying I had won a makeover comp, he went through the blurb of what I had won blah blah, then he siad that because of people winning before and not tuning up they needed a deposit of £99, of course alarm bells started to ring so I said I couldn't pay that because I didn't have a credit or debit card.
To me this smacks of scam, what do other people think, it's a shame 'cos I was starting to look forward to a days pampering
It is a scam. I was conned out of £60. They phoned up, gave me the details of the prize, I paid (refundable?) deposit, a few days later received confirmation letter which was not precisely what they told me I had won. When I asked for my deposit back they did not comply. I would steer clear of them - but that's my opinion of them. As stated by others though - refundable or not you shouldn't have to pay for any kind of prize.£2008 for 2008 member 1200 -

I've had a lot of these at my non-comping email addy this week, but not at the comping addresses, so it's probably not comping related, but thanks for warning everyone anyway0 -
Just wanted to say I think everyone who manages to do all these comps so quickly is fantastic. Many thanks to all of you.£2008 for 2008 member 1200

Hi everyone. I started comping a couple of weeks ago and firstly wanted to say a huge thanks for everyone that takes the time to find and post them. Very kind. :T
Couple of questions.
1. I have a question, I am trying to keep track of all the comps I enter but its hard! Now they have removed the function of seeing what threads/posts you have thanked...what is the best way to see what comps you have entered. I want to know when the end date is and also to unsubscribe from some of their newsletters.
2. My subscribed threads are every thread I post in, but as I just Thank a comp thread, they don't appear in my subscribed threads.

Welcome to the comping section , hope you get some wins soon!1. I have a question, I am trying to keep track of all the comps I enter but its hard! I didnt realise there had actually been a function where you could tell what threads or posts you had thanked. The way is to try and remember which ones you have entered, and if you arent sure you can tell by whether or not you have thanked the OP. If you dont enter many you could always subscribe to the ones that you enter?2. My subscribed threads are every thread I post in, but as I just Thank a comp thread, they don't appear in my subscribed threads.
Click on the thread tools bit and click subscribe - but I guess it depends on how many comps you enter as if you enter quite a lot it would take quite a long time and you would end up with a long list of subscribed threadsWeight Loss - 102lb0
