    Further to my previous post about Aldi chicken, I just have to report back on my SC chicken success.

    I rested the chicken on a chunky carrot and bits of onion, and poured in a cm or so of hot stock (nasty Value cube;) )

    I rubbed butter, pepper, golden syrup and cayenne pepper onto the top of the chicken, which helped make it look less anaemic as well as tasting fab.

    It cooked perfectly, tender but not at all mushy.

    Absolutely the best bit was the AMAZING stock left over for gravy. Having not been faffed with anything other than gravy granules for years, I just blitzed the juices with a bit of flour. It tasted divine.

    And plenty of leftovers. Perfect.:D
