I am new to this thread and only started this month (failed at first hurdle as have spent today! :o). Personally I decided not to include my christmas spends as like you it comes out of a different budget and I will buy as and when I see items going cheap. It would be impossible for account for this.

Will be interesting to hear how the long timer NDSs would deal with this.

Ooooopppppss. We never, ever use the "f" word on this thread  Sometimes bloomin' life gets in the way and things don't quite go to plan. The point is, getting back onto the straight and narrow and making the next day count double :D

As you are new I will not let Jaws out of his cage but be warned................he's not eaten for ages and might get a tad tetchy :rotfl:

I need to say though, If, Spoony, Little Miss Happy, Bigmumma, BDINI, Claire.........................I miss you, if you are lurking I hope you are all okay.

Lets make October our best month yet. We are all going to need every spare penny over the next few months  but the next person who uses that dirty "c" word in this thread will be forced to eat Igors chilli pumpkin at the halloween bash!!!!!!! You have been warned :rotfl:

    A.

So glad October here at last, I was getting bored with September. And as ever it's a big THANK YOU to our fabulous Freeby for kick starting the new thread - don't tell me you've been raiding Igor's herbal tea stocks for the prizes? If you have then don't tell anyone, it will demotivate them! And thanks too to Sazzie, Spoon, Ifwishes and everyone else who contributes to the smooth running of this challenge.

And secondly - the annual NSD gang Halloween/Samain gathering is now in the planning stages. As ever it will be held at Ennessdee Towers, and we require gang volunteers to come and decorate the place in a suitable manner (bring your own cobwebs). Igor is adamant he will be doing the catering (:() and has decided we should have an apple theme this year - so expect things on the menu as apple soup, cider, apple curry, cider, apple pizzas, cider....personaly I think we should ring round for a takeaway but don't tell Igor.
And fancy dress is compulsory - come dressed as your favourite apple. Any suggestions from gang members for food, party games, music etc will be most welcome (anything has got to be better than Igor's record collection.)

So, suggestions please - it's our party to celebrate all the fab NSDs we collect, and any long-established gang memers will be able to tell a tale or two about past NSD gang gatherings!

Oi! I'll have you know September is a very good month indeed (as it's my b'day month) :p:rotfl:

Is it in bad taste if I come dressed as Steve Jobs then? :o
Before I set my target for October I would appreciate some advice/views. We have a large extended family and so as the good :money: I try to be, I budget for this by putting aside money from Feb to Sept and then start buying in October with the final payments being made in January (I use a cashback credit card just for this purpose and find it is the easiest way to keep track of my Christmas spending).

By starting to buy presents etc in October I have time to find the best prices and I always buy cards, gift wrap etc in the January sales.

So my question is - if I stick only to buying Christmas presents and other Christmas related spends which are in my budget - can I claim these days as NSDs? I think it would be ok if I might sure I don't sneakily add something for myself. What I am trying to achieve through this thread is curbing non budgeted and non essential spending so I think this might work but I don't want to feel I am cheating :D

    Would love your views/comments

Personally, if you have set aside money for xmas presents and that's the only thing you spend, I would could it as a NSD. I have counted some xmas spends already as spendy days this year, but I also have a little put aside and when I use this (esp in Nov / Dec) then I don't count it.

Can't believe i haven't signed up for this month yet  Please can you pop me down for 14 NSD this month Freeby. Nearly got one today but got squeezed for flipping work lotto money in the afternoon.

  • Shame my direct debits left my account today as I haven't spent any money otherwise! Typical.

How about apple bobbing? Suggest holding nose and making sure if wearing false teeth they are firmly polygripped lol! :D
