Like many, really fed up of being forced to find another provider that suits your requirements for BB and line rental. Many stress free happy years with O2.
Received an e mail to advise our e mails with O2 will cease as of 1st Nov 2013 - so better get something sorted.
Rang Christina - O2/SKy ( I never know which one I am actually talking to)
She offered - £14.50 Line rental and £5.OO for anytime calls and free BB for a year, for O2 migrants ! After 12 months, if we did not take SKy tv £2.50 would be added to my bill.
Rang back later that evening after talking the above through with hubby ! To be told that if we didn't take Sky tv straight away add £5.00 to the above figures.
We do not want Sky tv.
Do you lovely experts know what the actual deal is for us O2 customers.
Thanks

You don't need to join sky just because the o2 email is ending.
If you have a good deal with o2 hang on as long as you can. Defer your migration and get your own email set up.0 -
Ther is no 'fixed deal' what you get offered may be entirely random. You can negotiate the best deal for you.
If you migrate to Sky then your o2 email will continue to function-but it take 10 minutes to open a Gmail accountNo free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Hi All,
I got the letter this morning saying SKY will be changing my BB to themselves in December and that if I pay on the 28th october, that I wish to change to them. I'm currently paying nothing to o2, but they do send me a bill for £0 each month, so I know what they are getting at.
Sky are offering unlimited BB for £7.50/month with no contract (I'm with BT for phoneline).
I do not want SKY tv and obviously I'd like to remain paying £0/month as long as I can. You talk about defering my migration. How does one go about that?
Also, I have an o2 mobile, so I assume I won't be loosing my email. Is this correct?
Assuming I can't stay with o2, where would you suggest I go to (I have an orchid dialler, so I do want to stay with bt for calls)0 -
Doesn't the letter mention anything about remaining on o2?
You need to ring them and tell them you prefer to stay on o2 as long as possible for obvious reasons (your current free deal)
O2 are ending their mobile email service on november 1st.0 -
Bad news on the email front, I've found them to be very reliable.
I shudder to think of the number of accounts I'm going to have to change, including this one
I shall ring Sky and see what my options are.0 -
So, Sky said they'd put me to the back of the queue for migration (the last people are to be transferred in April), so they'll send another letter then. He was keen to offer tv, phone etc but I wasn't interested.
So I should remain on free BB until April next year. Nice!0 -
So, using a cashback site I have moved my broadband and telephone from O2 to Sky, same price but with quite decent cashback and 6 months free broadband. Excellent.
Except for some reason my O2 email isn't working. I havent received a single email since Monday apart from one to tell me "my inbox is full". Call to O2, told its a Sky problem. Call Sky told its an O2 problem... Have been told now definitively it is an O2 problem, and am waiting a call back, first they were supposed to call on Tuesday, then Thursday, then Friday, then last night or this morning. I am getting more angry that I am getting nowhere despite being told that I am a priority customer.
Anyone on here work for O2 or Sky and able to assist?
I would recommend that you don't migrate for as long as possible, as soon as you do you will be subject to a 20mb O2 inbox, and basically left to suffer! Sky will tell you your allowance won't change but this is a lie! But it is easy enough to set up a gmail account I guess, and I was told that I needed to amend the incoming & outgoing ports by Sky to enable my emails to come through, but O2 dispute this. Am sick to the back teeth of it and am missing out on important emails because of it!Motto: You gotta be in it to win it!:j
2015 Objective - Pay off credit cards/Overpay mortgage
2015 Wins: Nothing yet, but keeping trying :T0 -
You didn't "migrate", you switched bb supplier.
When you moved via the cashback site, you went as a new customer, rather than a migrant from o2.
Often when you leave an isp you lose their emali.0 -

I thought I had deferred my migration. Spoke to Sky last week and was told they have to send a form to O2 to delay the migration. Yesterday I spoke to O2 and they had not heard from them and said it can't be done.
There are so many conflicting stories about this both here, from Sky and from O2. I think it boils down to who you get at whichever company who actually has any knowledge of it.0
