Warning - Asda rippoff (Bedminster, Bristol)

Not sure if this applies to other stores but today shopped in Asda and they have a Cleaning Products promotion. Picked up Daz 38 wash liquid detergent marked on shelf in promotion isle as £4. Also purchased Butchers Selection pork loin joint 1kg with shelf label marked down from £5 to £4.
Got home and found I had been charged £6.68 for the Daz and £5 for the pork loin joint. Decided petrol there and back would be less than the £3.68 overcharged so back I went. At customer services the girl took my goods and receipt and disappeared to check prices whilst I waited. She came back and at the same time a supervisor appeared saying to the other girl at CS, "there appears to be a problem with the Daz promotion?" With that the girl with my goods agreed the pork was indeed mispriced but then the supervisor took over and said there were no labels on the shelf for the Daz. I then showed her the promotion prices on the Asda shop app on my iphone. She then said that online prices were different to in shop prices. I guessed she had swiftly removed the labels from the shelf but, from the detergent isle. I advised her I got it from the promotion isle and she went off to check, followed closely by me this time. What a surprise, the labels on the shelf stated Daz £6.68 crossed out and £4 offer price. She swiftly removed both the labels and said the promotion must have ended but agreed to refund me and an extra £2 for inconvenience!
Wonder how many others bought Daz but did not check their receipt?

And the moral of this [long] story is always check your receipt before leaving the supermarket.0

Not really a rip off, just a misprice. It happens occasionally and you managed to get it sorted, so there's no real problem. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

They're very crafty in Asda. Same thing happened to me a while ago. Bought 2 tubs of Ben & Jerry's on offer at £3 each. I never buy them at the full price as they are just not worth it so I know they were on offer.
I got served about a minute after picking them up and went to the customer service desk as soon as I'd checked my receipt after getting served. They'd gone through at full price which is almost £5 each. The lady who went to check literally took about 5 minutes so I knew what was going to happen. Sure enough she came back and said she couldn't see any Ben & Jerry's on offer at £3. So I went back to show her and all the labels had been removed. She'd obviously been very busy during those 5 minutes.0 -
This must be standard training in ASDA. About a year ago, when in the middle of something that needed finished I managed to destroy my keyboard with a mug of coffee. Zoomed down to ASDA and was delighted to see a promo on a cordless keyboard and mouse package. Went straight to checkout with this single item and it went though at £15 more. Checkout supervisor went to check and I suppose she didn't expect me to follow her, but her first action was to tear off the shelf end ticket with the special promo price on it. When I asked what she was doing she really did put both hands behind her back like a lying kid and say "nothing". She eventually brought the ticket out and said it wasn't for my model, it was, it had the product number on it. Personally ASDA with all their ads and promos don't get my business anymore, with their constant price errors I'd sooner pay decent retailers what they deserve.0

Incase anyone wants to know, Aldi has their Ben and Jerrys equivalent for £1.99 at all times, and tastes just as good.0

^ Yep but we're not really talking about B&J ice cream, just Asda changing prices on the whole.
Sorta looks like you're trying to get people to go to Aldi, therefore I mark as SPAM.0 -
Stop acting like a 12 year old, anotheruser. There's nothing wrong with Ezmondino's post and her posting history doesn't suggest in any way that she is a shill for Aldi.0

Wow. Go up two posts and you'll see I was responding. It's called a conversation.0 -

Thanks. 14 times mentioned Aldi in 170+ posts. Around 8%. And not all of them positive for Aldi. You'd think people would do some research before posting such stuff but I doubt there will be an apology.0
