  • An update from the OP.

    We found out why our vendors pulled out from the sale - their daughter has cancer, and they are taking her in to look after her. It came as a shock to them.

    Moving house when faced like situations like this is so trivial... I can't blame the vendors. I just hope their family will be ok. I know their daughter had a very young son (about 5/6) from all the photos in their house. :(

    Me not having a home to move into pales into insignificance.

    What a terrible position for the vendors and their position is completely understandable. I know it doesn't make your situation any better at least you know why.
