Halifax mortgage offer withdrawn after confirmation of funds

As the title suggests, Halifax has just withdrawn their offer not only after the mortgage deed was signed, but after they faxed confirmation of payout. My case was one of a very limited number that was randomly selected for audit. They feel that there was discrepancies in the information I had provided. I can assure everyone that all information I provided was true to form, and have endless amount of evidence from my employer, my employers accountant and HMRC. This information I have provided them with and have refused to overturn the decision even after me suggesting that I can supply more evidence to help my case. When I first applied, not only did they offer me up to £300k, my application was automatically fast tracked indicating my credit score was of a very satisfactory level. I'm an average guy who pays bills on time, already own a property, and I was looking to lend £124k on a 80% LTV. Please can someone advise as this has turned my life upside down.

very unusual, something has to of spooked them. I would raise a formal complaint as they should of done those checks before.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Incredibly unusual, as typically the audits take place earlier in the process.
I would imagine the Solicitor has raised an issue with them, maybe with the deposit although I am guessing.
What exactly did they say for decline, what exactly has your Solicitor said?
Assume you have already exchanged, what has your Solicitor said about this?I am a Mortgage Broker

I have no idea what my credit score is, just that it met criteria not only for them to accept me, but to fast track my application. No longer than 3 wks from DIP To payout. I have a faxed copy of them saying they have ordered the chaps payment, please consider this as confirmation of payout, refrain from contacting us unless these details are incorrect. Is is after this they withdrew offer. I have no outstanding debts and all my credit accounts are fully upto date ie other mortgage ( which I have been known to make overpayments) and phone, gas elec, sky. No credit cards no loans. They feel there is inconsistencies with the information provided, however will no longer wish to look at evidence to back these inconsistencies up, via upto date RTI with employer and hmrc, invoices and further correspondence with employer MD.0

What has your solicitor said?
Were you due to exchange and complete on the same day?0 -
They said Halifax told them it was drawn to audit and they wish to withdraw. Was to complete and exchange on same day yes. They also said to ask my broker for anymore information, where he told me that it was due to inconsistencies, he knows me and knows how genuine e my case is, and confirms he will back me all the way. My I add at this point they have offered to pay all my expenses ie fee val fee solicitor fees and money for greivence ?0

I would also like to add that I have appealed and they refuse to overturn their decision, but odly enough after myself investigating, the same underwriter did the appeal as withdrawn it in the first place.
Will this situation bare any relevance of me obtaining a mortgage with another bank? I have complained to the ombudsman, and raised a complain with FCA, and of course internally with Halifax0 -

How can you be sure?0 -
My broker told me the name of the underwriter who withdrew it, when I was chancing appeal they said that the same name underwriter was currently looking at the appeal. My solicitor has given me a photocopy of the faxed confirm they sent to advise my solicitor that the funds have been called0
