it now costs more to send a 2.1kg parcel 2nd class from a post office than I can pay to have a 25kg box collected from my house on a 24 hour, fully tracked courier!“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0

Their unions are totally unlike the politically-motivated extremists that we're lumbered with in the UK. I'm not sure we should even use the word "union", loaded as it is with so much negative baggage, for the German equivalent.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

I have a question and was wondering if someone would be kind enough to help. I'm looking to invest £1000 and when going through the online application it asks if I want to get a share certificate or keep them with the royal mail nominee share service. Now my first impression was to get the certificate but what is the benefit or drawback from using the royal mail share service?Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 20200 -

I'm sure the RM management would be delighted to offload their operations in Scotland. If the SNP want to renationalise them then I'm sure it would be available at a knock down price. The same can't be said of bringing the gas an electricity companies under pubic ownership.0 -

Can't say that has ever been a deciding factor as in over 400 parcels no-one from the outer Hebrides has ever bought anything from mehowever I have sent to most European countries (and even Australia) for less than RM's current 2kg medium parcel price.
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

You need to find out what the nominee service will charge when you come to sell your shares.0 -

Presumably Royal Mail workers will be entitled to a public sector pension and earn far more than a courier driver does.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
