Fran, I know nothing and it's a complete guess, but did you have older versions of Opera there, maybe for or not for all users? Perhaps the new version over the top has had differing effects on users (maybe you've got more users now than on the first install), and there's a conflict with an old version. Like I say, complete guess, so anyone that knows better please resist the temptation to send up my ignorance.
No, it's the new version, after rebooting it is now working (after security questions have been asked by my preventative stuff), I did tick for all users, none of them have had a look yet.

So far I really prefer it to Firefox - except for the fact that it imported thousands (literally) of deleted posts! Including all the "topic replies" etc. from mse. I've been deleting them by the hundred every now & then - there's no boxes to tick so it's tedious!

So ppl....whats the verdict? better than firefox?
Loads better, the mail makes more sense than Thunderbird which I never liked and I really like the colours!!! (It's a woman thing... like the colour of a car!!) Lots of choice about the layout of the page too. Really good.

Heresy. I don't know if it is an effect of the Onspeed accelerator proxy I have working better with IE than with Firefox and Opera (it is running with them), but for me IE loads MSE pages about twice as fast as the other two. The techie index page takes about 5s vs 11s. In fact Opera takes as long for a 10 post page as IE for a 30. Maybe I need to look at the Onspeed settings...

When you press the Back button though, Opera is instant from cache but IE seems to link again, so sometimes...

    more playing required.

maybe if you play around with the image settings (cached/no images) i would have thought then it would have to compete, but then by doing that you r effectively not benefiting from onspeed cause i cant see how the text can really be compressed on there server...thinking out loud.

Opera is blindingly fast for me with MSE pages. Just tried IE and no comparison. Only pages that Opera has trouble with, for me, are a few Microsoft related ones (wonder why?) like update and one or two secure sites that only allow IE.
