Hi everyone,
Just gone thought a total nightmare with BT ... took money from my bank account in 'error' and direct debit taken a week early this breaching direct debit guarantee. Bank sorted that bit out through indemnity. Also I was mis sold the BT package.
I wrote to chairmans office and was phoned a few hours later. They agreed that direct debit guarantee was breached and also agreed I was clearly mis sold the package.
I was on broadband but this package was fibre plus BT vision and phone.
BT have agreed to release me from the contract without penalties (I have it in writing) and also gave me a MAC code so I could transfer to a new provider easily.
I am trying to join Sky who have informed me that the MAC code i was given by BT is invalid as it begins with the letter O not L.
I looked on Ofcom's site and they say all MAC codes begin with L.
Does anyone know if BT are trying to play games with me by giving me a hooky code that they know won't work?
I am expecting BT to call me tomorrow .... what if he says that its because I have fibre ?

Not playing games-just operating with their usual inefficiency. Request a new MAC.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If the code was sent by email, it could be mistyped as O and L are very close on a keyboard.0

Good idea-give it to Sky again starting with 'L' and see if it validates. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I wish the MAC had been mistyped but I was telephoned by the manager who sent it to me by email and also read it out over the phone to me and yes it begins with O so it appears they are trying to play games with me.
Tried changing it to L with Sky but its invalid.
here I go back to BT again gggrrrrrrr0
