Let me get everyone correct, when you install it and it asks for your details it does not ask for your cc details!!! And it doesn't slow you down
it certainly does slow you down, I thought Norton was bad but McAfee was a total disaster. And as previously mentioned its a very stubborn prog to uninstall.
AVOID- even if it is free

ive got this, it free to download and will work for 12months.

Like all antivirus software, it will slow ur pc slightly. But the idea is its running in the backgroud protecting you from viruses and stuff.

Ive used norton, onecare, avg and now mcafee this is no different than any others. Infact i would say norton slowed my pc the most.
  • I use AVG but i am also going to try Avast which sounds good.

I've been an avid AVG user for years now but have recently been using a program called Anti Vir it leaves a minuscule footprint & it's Free Too :T

Im more of a AVG user myself for quite a few years. Though the 2nd PC now uses Virgin media's security products as you get free antivirus, spyware, parental control etc.

But this is still a good find/post nevertheless

This is the direct link, should work without having to go to Natwest

Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.
  • AVG all the time, free and works. Despise Norton and Mcafee they both slowed my pc down to a crawl, also took forever to get rid of all the bits and pieces of them off my 'puter. Use SPYBOT (free) and AVG to keep my machine running quick and problem free.

just uninstaled my McAfee and got AVG, now I know what broadband is really like :D:D I really didn't realise how much my computer was slowed down by the McAfee!!!
  • just installed mcafee- runs perfectly, cannot detect any drag.-it found and removed several bits avg let through. I dont think mcafee is such a pain to remove these days. thanks for the find.
