I got rid of Norton and installed AVG, Kerio, ad-aware and spybot. Never had any problems and my computer is trouble free.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

thanks for the link it provided some very useful information
February 2007 Comparitive test
And no it doesn't have an Email scanner but seeing as all my email is scanned viewed on-line via Yahoo & personal Web pages this is a bloatware that has no purpose for me so glad not have it
But i agree if your using Outlook/Outlook express etc. Then Avast & AVG are probably your better options. Although I don't think AVG scans Thunderbird though so you may need to be aware of that unless that's been sorted now as it was nearly 2 years ago since i tried it.
Also it's worth noting if you want to pay for your AV and want the ultimate protection you'll be hard fetched to beat Kaspersky AV
but as in all things AV always check for the latest best protection as what's good now might be next to useless in 6 months time0 -
I also Spotted this in one of the links you posted Active Virus Shield it's Kaspersky's Engine with the AOL Branding all over it but it's FREE !
How can you not try it ??? i got it installed yesterday & so far so good I'll let you know if there any problems with it thanks for the link :T0 -
