"Yes return to donor is usually possible but it has associated minimum cost and contract term e.g. 18 months commitment for BT unlimited broadband or unlimited Infinity."

You still don't have to take the broadband, just the line on return to donor. Also no matter what provider you switch to you enter into a new contract
Thing is (which you won't grasp) if you want to switch straight back from sky to a normal bt type line it's not straightforward and you have the added expense of getting a new line and the possible hassle of losing your phone number for your trouble too.

You may not want to go back to BT. Other providers are cheaper and have UK call centres.

or you can pay Tesco £30 for a new line, infact bt said to me when moving that if wanted togo back can for free and this was a month ago.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

You are demonstrating just how little you actually know and contradicting yourself.

If you have a new line installed, you would then have to wait much more than a few hours before broadband could be provisioned on your new line!

Your telephone number may not be important to you but it is to most.

I haven't asked which tv package, but no HD would not matter as our tv screen is , but I think someone on here did say it was the Entertainment plus pack with HD.

The cost is £119 up front line rental, which saves you from the December increase, and £5 /month for Anytime calls.

The donation, to be discussed, will, I believe, be a refund of notice days beyond their taking the line, which is done much sooner.
    OK, thanks for that update

As it so happens my BT Line Rental Saver is due for renewal next month (@ £141 ) so I called 0800 230 0202 (option 1,5 then 2) and spoke to the Sky Olympus team to see what they could do (I'm an ex-O2 customer on All Rounder BB free until March 2014) and I was instantly offered:

Free Entertainment plus TV with Sky+HD box (with built-in WiFi)
    Free installation
    Free Unlimited Broadband
    Free Sky hub
    Free 1571
    Free Caller Display
    Free SkyGo
    Free Sky Box Sets
£50 credit on my account for leaving BT
    £119.40 Upfront line rental
Talk Anytime @ £5 per month (includes 0845 & 0870 numbers - giving Free (Anytime) calls of up to 60 minutes duration per call)

So, total cost for the year would be: £119.40 + (£5 x 12) - £50 = £129.40 (less than the BT Line Rental Saver renewal alone! :rotfl:)
I'm tempted; (equates to just £10.78 per month )... decisions, decisions...
Anybody got a better deal than this?

No you just want to believe what you want to, next you will say bt do their own work. Hate to say BT only does the billing, and is split into several companys.

Sky customer service is good, and kicks butt on bt's broadband

    Tesco line rental
    1. You must be over 18 and be a UK resident with a UK bank account
    2. You must be a BT account holder
    3. Apply online or over the phone
    4. Setup a Direct Debit instruction with us. (All bill payments have to be via monthly direct debit).

Once you've applied it may take up to 3 weeks to move to us. During this time we will confirm your bank details, cancel and transfer your existing service from BT. During the transfer your phone service will be unaffected. We'll deal with it as quickly as possible and will keep you informed on progress.

Tesco Homephone only works on a BT landline.
All payments by monthly Direct Debit
