I have found previous posts on this thread very helpful. However I notice that some posts are from some time ago , could anyone advise if the advice given is still relevant and up to date ?
Then why on earth did you hijack it...?

Hi,
We also received a PCN for the west end retail park today, Crow road, Glasgow.
I understand the PCN, solicitors and collection letters can all be safely ignored, but my wife is worried that we get visited by a debt collection agency at our front door, asking questions in a pushy/aggressive manner trying to catch us out. Is that a possibility or to the best of your knowledge do they only go as far as letters.
Also, I checked up and Savills, Glasgow are the landlords on behalf of whom the PCN was sent - are they the people we should contact about getting it cancelled [of course without admitting who was driving]?
Many thanks in advance.0 -
A few collectors have chanced their arm at phonecalls in Scotland but they are simple enough to deal with. Most just stick to letters - visits are unheard of!
Please read the Newbies Sticky and start your own thread if further advice is needed.0 -

Many thanks in advance.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, have you had any other letters?
I got one recently addressed to my Mum, who passed away a year ago. The parking incident happened four years ago (roughly the same time as your post) and we hadn't heard anything since. I'm pretty sure they were just chancing their luck. Not only is Mum no longer with us, neither is the car, so I'm pretty sure there's nothing they can do. The sad thing is, this happened to my Gran, too, and she actually paid the fine. My Auntie then told her she shouldn't have bothered. I think older people are more likely to pay out of fear, but my Mum had no plans to pay at all. I had been told by a few people in conversation that they can't enforce the parking fines, but out of curiosity I decided to Google the company and came across this forum. Anyway, I just wanted to share this. Thanks to everyone for removing any doubt, I now know I have nothing to worry about.0 -
Hi, have you had any other letters?
It's four and a half years since the original poster last visited this forum. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Ok this is spooky. 20 minutes after posting my comment a letter arrived from Zenith collections about the parking charge. They're offering me a discounted settlement of £75 instead of £130. The top of the letter says "Notice of intention to commence legal proceedings". Lol I don't think so0

Please read the Scotland-specific advice in the Newbies Sticky and post four which covers debt collectors on both sides of the border. also, don't hijack old threads. You clearly agreed not to on sign-up.0

I apologise, I was merely thanking people for what I had read. I didn't see any point in creating a new thread for just that.0
