  • easyjet is without doubt the WORST airline i have ever encountered. the customer service is disgraceful and that f*cking hopeless way they make you say yes and no over the phone to the computer, only to be put on hold and be made to listen to robbie williams, THEN to be told that they are still endevouring to take my call.

IT IS A JOKE. i have yet to get through to the customer service and i think i am close to having an anurism over the whole ordeal.

    DO NOT BOOK WITH EASYJET
  • Or Sleasyjet as I now call them. I suffered badly at the hands of this outfit. When turning up for a flight from Spain back to England, 3 hrs before departure, I was told blatantly that the flight was cancelled due to bad weather at Gatwick, the next flight was 3 days away & was full so I wouldn't get on that, either wait for a week or more at your own expense or get yourself to another airport (suggested Alicante a few hundred miles away) they wouldn't guarantee a seat when I got there, they also emphasised Sleasyjet wouldn't pay transit costs. "NEXT"! I was gobsmacked, I was in a state of total disbelief, there were 100s of people crowding the desk, arguing/crying. I could see that the situation was hopeless so I headed for the car hire desks, out of the 6 hirers only one would hire me a drop off rental for £180 a day! I grabbed it, there was no other choice. As I know Spain well, I knew that Malaga 120 miles away was my best bet for max no of flight options, so I drove like the clappers, went straight to Sleasyjet check in, all flights cancelled ! Next door was Monarch who had a flight departing on exactly the same route with no disruptions in half an hour but the gate had closed, when I asked the Monarch staff why they could fly & Sleasyjet couldn't, they replied, "thats Sleasyjet for you"! The next & last flight out was B.A to Heathrow, I was able to fly on that for £58, I was so relieved & thankfull to B.A (I know they have their problems but). On my return I vowed to make Sleasyjet pay whatever it took & yes it was a fight.Over 3 months I flooded them with letters demanding all my costs circa £300, 99% of which were'nt responded to, just one e mail telling me that they were looking into it & then finally the offer of £55 refund of the one way fare,of which I told them (well you can guess). Finally I took them to the small claims court & they paid out in full, at the last minute, Bas****s. I will never go near that company again even if I have to walk, please everyone else, be aware of how this outfit will treat you in your darkest hour, I consider myself relatively lucky in that I'm a fit, reasonably switched on individual, supposing it had been a family/ disabled/ elderly, the mind boggles. I just hope that they go bust asap. Thanks for reading this.

Sorry to hear your tale but sadly this is one that is told all too often regarding EZ (see http://www.flightmole.com/forum/index.php for details of past, successful and ongoing cases).

So glad you secured your expenses back from EZ (even if it was at the last minute). Bear in mind for the future that there is a set of regulations that the airlines have to abide by in these circumstances. See: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:32004R0261:EN:HTML for what airlines have to do in the event of cancellation or delay (the latter is now also subject to compensation in Article 7 due to a recent court ruling).

Forewarned is forarmed and all that.
