Companies get around the 6 month rule (well RBS anyhow) by renewing the arrangement every 6 months. I had about 3 renewal letters before realising a default would be gone quicker and save a bucket load on interest.
Crazy system, but that's the way it is and banks a use it as much as they can get away with.
Not that I think that's acceptable, and if I was that concerned about the default date I would complain.:beer:0 -

Section 19 Informal Arrangement.0 -
Actually section 19 is
"19 Informal rescheduling of the agreement".
Funny how you mistyped there.
That is something completely different from an arrangement to pay with an AP marker. An AP "should" only be used for 6 months max.Still rolling rolling rolling......<

I have recently finished dealing with Bcard on just this point - they now recognise that they should not be using AP's on accounts in the circumstances you have (pretty much the same as mine) and that accounts should in fact be defaulted - they apologised, gave me £200 in compensation and have removed completely all the records from all 3 main CRA's - you need to speak to their customer complaints team - the person I called was David Kenyon - I am at work but over the weekend I'll add on his number and address - very helpful0

Did you not keep to your repayments with BC & why have they removed yourself from all 3 CRA's.0 -

Hi
I'm getting myself a little confused (not that difficult), hope someone can kindly put me straight.
In 2003, I applied for a credit card from Barclays.
I got into difficulties in 2007, and then made an involuntary arrangement to pay £5 per month.
This arrangement continued until 2011 when they sold the debt to Cabot, who I pay £5 per month.
I have checked my credit file and it shows that payments have been listed as AR for the whole period. Has this been recorded correctly or should a default have been registered against my file, after 6/12 months.
I have spoken to Barclaycard who have informed me that they inputted the payments correctly ie AR.
Can anyone advise?0 -

Similar happened to me.
I was told that because my arrangement is reviewed every 6 or 12 months they can flaunt the rules.
