I used to bite DD's nails - when she was asleep. Now we use nail scissors, and she's awake. She lets me do it, and stays still, so long as I give her the scissors and a bit of scrap paper to cut (supervised) afterwards.

She's 2 years 11 months and we've been doing that for about 5-6 months.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
I don't bother - he'd probably explode. I just wait until they're torn and hanging off then I pull them off."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

My wife was told to try cutting them when they are having a bath.
I thought this was the most stupid thing I had ever heard - it wouldnt make any difference.

My LG is 18 mths and will sit still long enough for me to do one hand and a bit if I'm lucky. I find giving her something to hold like my mobile or doing it in front of the TV helps. I sometimes have to grab her hand to do the last few, but on the whole she is quite good.Got married 13/11/10

Strangely my 21month old LOVES it. I think it tickles him. He lets me do every finger and toe and watches intently. He was a nightmare as a baby though and was forever scratching his face.0

Ours don't mind it, but we have always done it when they have been awake with some nail clippers, so they know it doesn't hurt or anything, its just a bit boring. I tried to file one of my daughters nails once as I hadn't cut it very well and she really freaked out at that so I had to stop.0

My 22 month old DS doesn't mind at all and will even hold his hand out for me to do it:A. My 9 year old DS however is a different story however and it always involves melodramatic screams and false starts- he even insists he has to bite down on a flannel and does deep breathing exercises!!!:o0
