Agree with that!
The reason supermarket fuel is cheaper (in the main) is because the likes of Tesco decided to use their massive buying power to reduce the wholesale cost to them, rather than keep that saving they are passing "some" of that saving on to customers.
As someone else mentioned it still comes from the same refineries, not to mention has to go through rigorous checks before release.0 -
Esso on the A31 near Corfe Mullen was 136.9 last night for diesel and 130.9 for petrol.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
The Shell garage I mentioned earlier has also now dropped it's prices, so that diesel is only 1p more per litre than at the Morrissons. (I didn't look at the petrol price.)0

there is a new Sainsbury`s in Edinburgh at Longstone petrol 127.9,Tesco who usually put their prices up by 2p a litre before their 5 p off they have cut it to 128.9, Shell which is nearby too 134.9:eek: nought wrong with petrol from supermarkets in my opinion we live close to Tesco they are chancers, they had the 5p off spend £50 banners all over the store at 8pm Sunday night folk filling their trolleys, the promotion finished on Sunday night:(please do not pick on me for my grammar,I left school at fifteen and worked in the building trade for 55years ,

Has anyone else noticed that, even before petrol has started pumping into the car, that the price immediately jumps to an amount - I have usually seen 13p but as much as 18p?!
I have been very careful testing my theory by gently pressing the trigger from 0p but, as soon as the petrol starts flowing, the price suddenly changes to 13p.
Does this mean that this amount is always being added to the actual cost of the petrol dispensed?
Or am I going mad??!!Rescued by MSE! Profile name out of date as, thankfully, with lots of help from this site, have cleared my debts! Many thanks to MSE and good luck to all !!:dance:0
