So the poor innocent landlady has to bear the cost? Unbelievable

She DID NOT have to pay any money to anyone.

If the OP has paid her back then great - very noble. Now watch the fight to try and get any money back from whoever took it off her in the first place.

OP - did you get a reciept from your ex landlady confirming you have paid her for her paying YOUR debt? Hope so.

She sent it to me via email, and I will get the original when I get back to the UK.
She's already been reimbursed. Please do not be worried for her

Perhaps the old lady has a grandson or nephew who works for Executive Outcomes and offers to get the money back for her.

Either way if you stiff her be prepared for that old saying "what goes around, comes around"!

I assume you missed the post where the OP said they had arranged for the landlady to be reimbursed via a friend?

Im not worried for her as far as I am concerned it is her own fault for paying and she did not have to and if the baliffs were threatening her then she should report them for doing so.

You are not worried for her? Is it because she's a vulnerable lady who has no knowledge of the system. Personally I think you are a callous idiot. Fortunately the OP has arranged to repay her.
  • BoP interrupts for the hard of reading.

OP hired a motor from mr Zippy, and drove it like a bullet. he commited (possibly a speeding offence) and got booked by one of PC Plods camerars.

He ignored original ticket and did a runner.

His kind land lady agreed to settle this for him.

At this point, I am confused as anyone.

    Confused?

    Nope.

    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

Was not speeding, was on the bus lane. And yes, by mistake.
I managed to reduce the ticket to the original fine as I proved that I was not in the country when the ticket was sent and I had no knowledge of that.
They never sent me the new invoice to pay. I called several times then I did not bother anymore, as I didn't think they would send animals to bother others instead of me. Still confused?

Animals seems harsh. They're just doing their job in retrieving money that is owed.

Threatening an old lady with her sick mother getting stressed over there, I don't think humans do that..
