Car Auctions
Need to know of some good car auction centres in Birmingham, Bristol or Oxford area as i am looking for a Honda FR-V and if anyone knows a particular day when Honda send their cars to the Auction Centres.
Also is there anyone who has a rough idea what price they are being sold for, budget will be about £3600. I have experience of attending an auction and buying a car before

There's a Manheim in Bristol, near Ashton Gate.
If you sign up you can download the listings so you will know what is coming up. A lot of it is ex fleet cars so doubtful there will be many FR-V going through but there are old trade ins going through all the time.0 -
Looking for a family car with plenty of luggage area really like the look of the Honda especially being a 6 seater will consider fleet cars as well.0

If it was my money I would rather buy from ebay than a car auction. With ebay you can normally go and view the car and maybe test drive it before you bid or buy from a classified ad.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Have a look at servicing prices - Honda parts are seriously expensive and you might be better off with something different.0

But the fact they rarely break anyway means you are buying less parts.
I have had 5 Honda's and they have all been completely flawless.
Tyres, brake pads and discs are the only things I ever bought.
Tyres are the same costs, and discs and pads you can get from eBay (Mintex etc.) at very reasonable prices.

Just to manage your perceptions here - Honda wont have and wont be auctioning off FR-Vs at the £3600 price point. Any nearly new cars they have they'll push through closed dealer auctions or large fleet auctions.
You may well get Honda dealers pushing stock through but that may be on an ad hoc basis and they wont all do it at the same auction at the same time.
I would have thought your best bet is as others have said, ebay. You've the benefits of an auction to buy a cheaper car, but ultimately you can test drive and decline to buy if its not as described.
Hondas arent without fault and something as complex as an FRV, i'd not like to be risking buying it from auction.0 -
Some good advice haven't thought of ebay will look into that.

A good car.
A friend has had head gasket failure on his Civic Type R, and the Civics of yesteryear share a lot of suspension components with the Rover 400/45/ZS. The older Accords also share the Rover 600 suspension system, and again ball joints aren't the best.
Ironically enough when Honda used a Rover diesel engine, it turned out to be one of their most reliable.
Clutches still wear out, CV joints and ball joints still need replacing and shock absorbers etc still fail. They're not as solid as people think.0
