yes, it's the second one down. Looks like the profile of an F1 car well it does to me!
Something to do with the engine?

It's the engine management system and probably means a sensor somewhere is either playing up or died altogether.

It needs to be plugged into a diagnostic tool - you can buy them online, such as these..

    http://www.bavariandominator.co.uk/pages/Autel_MaxScan_GS500_Diagnostic_Code_Reader_For_All_Vehicles_149856-z=443564&p=38880.cfm

(I dont recommend that one, it's an example) use it to find the error code which you can then Google to find the problem.

Or take it to a garage you trust to use their own equipment and find the fault.

One thing you can do is to open the bonnet and check all the electrical connections you can see. Make sure they're secure, dry and clean.
  • On my way home tonight an amber warning light came on on the dashboard in the shape of a little car.

ha ha ha. Yes I probably do as I live within half a mile of the Jaguar Landrover development centre and they're often driving cars covered in 'wrapping' up and down my road!

Just for those who were kind enough to try to help..it seems I have a faulty Lamda sensor in (?) the exhaust and it needs to be changed.
Car booked in for Monday, fully drive able in meantime but after Monday I will be approx £160 lighter in the pocket! Full weeks wages plus some for me.
Not fun but at least I can get to work tomorrow to earn enough to pay for it! :o
Thanks again to those that offered help and support, I freely admit to having had a quick panic.:)
