Car tyres

Hi
Any advice would be appreciated....
My front tyres are 2mm (which will need changing soon) and my back ones are 7mm. Would it be ok to swapped them around?
Would the garage charge you to do this? I am assuming they will have to realign them etc?
If your suggestion is to get them changed, is there anywhere that you would suggest? I'm current being quoted £160 each for michelins
Thanks in advance

I'm assuming your car is front wheel drive.
You should really have swapped them around some time ago before the difference was so big.
A garage will charge for this, but it's just a simple swap around - nothing needs to be re-aligned at all.
Why can't you do this yourself - surely you have a jack and a wheelbrace?
It'll be good practice for if/when you have a puncture.
It should take no more than a 30 minutes or so.0 -
1.6mm is the legal minimum, not a target. Get the rears put on the front and brand new ones put on the rear.
What's the size and speed rating?0 -
Yes, car is front wheel, to be honest, I haven't been driving the car that much recently and only realised they were low when it went in for a service.
I have the kit to do it but not sure if i'll manage, I would have to call the AA to change the tyre if I ever got a flat...and it will probably take me an hour.0 -

Without either a spare, axle stands or a pile of bricks it's fairly awkard to swap them.0 -
The tyre size is 225 50 17R 94V0

Thanks
If you've got no spare are these run-flat tyres?
Or have you got a 'mobility kit' with a can of liquid goo that you pump into the flat tyre.
Exactly what car is this?
I had all the wheels off my car yesterday to paint the hubs before the winter and swap the tyres around.
Start to finish including the painting took 2 hours 30 minutes.
No axle stands or piles of bricks involved - but I did use the spare.0 -
Just checked - £160 each for Michelins that size is a fair price in my opinion.0

I've got a spare, these aren't run flats. Just don't know how to do it....0
