Being female may hinder her a little as will coming from Fermanagh, the only alternative is Nigel Dodds but I don't think he will stand.

Can't see the party discounting her just because she comes from Fermanagh. Why would you think that's likely to happen - are the DUP anti-culchie?

It would be interesting to see what comments are made about her sex though. Would that still be tolerated in this day and age, even in Norn Irn?

I'm thinking of Tom Elliott and the fact that many feel the leaders should live close to Belfast.

I don't remember Tom Elliot's county being an issue. Plus Fermanagh is only an hour's drive from town these days. If the worst came to the worst any First Minister living in Fermanagh could always get a flat in town.

None of this stopped Brookeborough - he was a Fermanagh man.

I remember on Slugger O'Toole at the time a lot of people from Belfast felt Fermanagh was an issue in relation to Elliott - I agree with you by the way, NI needs a female leader too.

I think you could just put that down to the usual city attitude of slagging off the culchies. It didn't diminish Tom Elliot's abilities.

I don't think Norn Irn "needs" a female leader. I just don't have any objections of we do. If Arlene is the right man for the job then she should get it. ;)

Reminds me of "Yes Minister/Prime Minister" when the cabinet was explaining the lack of females - Humphrey gave his great speech about him being a "feminist and how he always wanted the best man for the job".

Yes Arlene would be good, I can't really think of anyone else to replace Robinson.

The truth of the matter here http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sunday-life/catholics-land-sale-row-farmer-left-536k-in-will-29620882.html

No apology from Robinson must mean he (or others) is considering his position surely?

As a matter of interest this is the property referred to http://www.propertypal.com/ardmoney-farm-brookeborough-enniskillen/227142#photo-4

We should be seeing a contrite apology then. Shouldn't we?

Nigel could rightly be called a Fermanagh man surely? Educated at Portora and Dad a long standing councillor in Enniskillen.
