The First Minister's behaviour

I am shocked by the way Peter Robinson has behaved since the start of the summer recess. I was concerned about his unexpected U-turn over the Maze Peace Centre; it's not something I support personally but it seemed to me as if he had agreed it so why go back on his word?

Now we see this televised rant at Jim Allister, all of which appears to have been based on incorrect information. What an embarrassment!

Listening to Robinson on the television I have slowly come to the conclusion that all is not well. Is he ill? He wouldn't have been my choice for First Minister but up until his unexpected "letter from America" I thought he was making a pretty good effort in what surely must be the toughest job politics can offer in the UK.

Has anyone got any opinions or able to fill me in on something I've missed?

He's an ex-estate agent. Nuff said.

When do estate agents ever get the facts right. Never.

They are more interested in lining the pockets of their property developing friends.

Something isn't right that's for sure. I mean why would he allow himself to be linked to comments about Jim Allister's wife profiting from a relative's will? It seems to me that he's almost begging for people to publicly recall his own wife's apparent lack of concern about who should profit from the use of "public" money. What happened to the old mantra, "people who live in glass houses" etc etc?

Yes there's that too. Peter should be very careful about bringing "shady property deals" into the public eye once again. More grist for the mill.

He is like all the rest of them up on The Hill. Only interested in small, petty, point scoring rather than being strategic and working towards the long term benefit for all those living in this country. Obviously Mr Robinson is irked with Jim Allister and used the priviledge of Stormont to say things he would not have been able to say in public without running the risk of being sued under slander law.

Another example of abuse of power by our so called leaders.

He has ZERO leadership qualities and it is obvious all is not well with him.

It was on TV. In the assembly he confronted Jim Allister and said that he had benefited from the proceeds of a will by selling farmland to republicans in Fermanagh and that Allister was also the executor of said will. Turns out this is incorrect; that in fact the beneficiary of the will was Allister's wife, that is was a family matter and that he was not an executor.

I think the only reason he is DUP leader is because he was Paisley's wee puppet. I agree he doesn't appear to be much of a First Minister and as I've said he appears to me to be unwell.

Perhaps Iris is up to her old tricks?

Just reading up on this now, the DUP have said that Allister's family have shown double standards by selling land to Republicans.
