On the subject of passwords, does anyone use - I think they are called password managers...where all your info is kept under one password? are they secure, worth it, any good?
    Yes, I use keepass
    http://keepass.info/

I've used it for the past few years without any of my passwords being compromised. Definitely worth it.

I choose not to allow it to access the internet though and update it manually - that reminds me, looks like there's a new version :)

There's a version for Android too

They do. AV's protect against all malware - not just viruses.

Thank you for taking the time to explain about locknote and similar sites. I am going to have a good read later, something like this could be a good option for me as so many sites now need passwords and as many am guilty of using the same password many times...or having it written down (not under the heading passwords!!!).

Just got to get my head round how they actually work, once I understand that I`m sure it could be brilliant for me.

That depends upon your definition of malware. IMO a second opinion from Malwarebytes is always worth the minor effort of updating and running it. I know from experience that AV hasn't protected my granddaughters laptop and I've had to restore it back to the state it was in when I gave it to her twice already in less than 3 months.

For password protection I've used for many years Access Manager by citi-software and find it really excellent.

That depends upon your definition of malware.

Malware by defintion emcompasses all subsets of Malicious Software - viruses, trojans, rootkits, worms, spyware, adware etc etc.

Antivirus software does target all subsets of malware - not just "viruses".

That said, it doesn't hurt to run an additional scan should your antivirus miss something - no scanner will detect 100% of all malware - whether it be mbam or any other, but saying "...virus scanners don't usually pick up malware" isn't correct.
