I'm not sure why you have no access to the mag thread comping cat? It's your choice not to use it as far as I am aware so there shouldn't be a problem accessing it if you wanted to?

It's such a shame when people disagree with how the comping forum is run yet don't join in or start a conversation about it in the compers chat corner where everyone can have a say.

When two different groups of people come head to head it's never a good thing.

I don't understand why the comping forum can not just come together as one

way I see it it was asked in the CCC & discussed/agreed by lots of peeps how Cornish/mumto run the thread as it's them that have to keep it updated, everyone had the opportunity to see the thread & discuss

Yes fights happen often weather bums are involved or not I could not tell you. No one's mentioned my bum before thankfully. That's what the report button is for.

My point is purely that the forums should be run for the majority - and not for the convenience of a minority or for those who CHOOSE to post.

The main board is should be where ALL COMPETITIONS should be, and then anyone who pops by, comes on regularly or spends all day here can find any competition that is available.

Sub boards (regular boards, whatever you want to call them) are there for those who are more organised, have more time, have a routine etc - but that should not stop these competitions being posted on the main board.

Its fine for regular posters/people who have time to go into the Compers Chat Corner - again the MAJORITY DO NOT - on the odd occassion i have been able to look onto these sub boards, ive been shocked and amazed as to what ive found, but i dont have time to do this very often (i missed that a lovely MSE member had died, i was so upset i hadn't seen it earlier)

Now, ok, people can say thats my own fault that i dont go there, but lets face it - i work full time, have a family and a life, as do again the MAJORITY of people. Great, if you have super fast computers and all day to spend on here, or you dont sleep or work, are ill or whatever other reason you have plenty of time - but why should that mean the MAJORITY have to miss out because they didnt know about a change, didnt understand a change or didnt have time to comment/look/care about a change.

I have been using this board for years - i remember the afternoon that Diva spent hours adding end dates to all the posts (yes, ive been here that long i remember posts with no end dates!) and this board was much friendlier, happier and more of a community. I find it now to be clicky and run by a few who quite frankly, gang together whenever something is mentioned - if i saw different names everytime i would be more inclined to think i am completely wrong, but its the same ones, and hardly ever any new ones - proving my point, the MAJORITY dont know/have time/care/understand etc.

Im sure the magazine thread is brilliant if you know what you are doing - i missed it being set up, by the time i found it there were so many competitions listed i came straight back out again - and as i said before, i have been comping for years - so you put yourself in the place of someone who has only just started comping, or who only has an hour or two of an evening to comp, and you tell me that its not intimidating or time consuming. On the main board, they can look at the prize and immediately decide if they want to enter or not, without having to scroll
through so many, maybe even having to click through to another link to find out more details.

I know things are not going to change, and i know the majority of people will never know that ive said any of this (because this thread is now in game over and lets face it, most people wouldn't see it even if it was still on the main board) because most people just want to enter competitions - i just think its a shame that things have to be made complicated to keep a few happy.

Ok my view on this bearing in mind that CornishPasty is offline for a few days is this -

Comping Cat, you have often cited your dislike of the mag thread, which of course is your own opinion, but whenever a vote/poll/thread whatever happens, the majority are for the mag thread in its current format. I understand that you hate it, and that's something I can't help with, there are many things on here I don't agree with either but I just figure out my own way around them and leave it at that.

As fire**fly and Luckyone have rightly said, the latest click to win comps were discussed in the chat corner thread thingy, again, if people chose not to go in there to read posts/threads, it would not be feasible to pm every member of the comping community to make them aware something is going on, i'm not sure what the alternative could be?

I'm sure there are other people that don't like the mag thread, but as has been said many times before, it always comes across that the majority prefer it, it takes up a lot less room on the board, the regular daily thread now run by Tinks does not need to be amended every day, there is a lot less work primarily for CornishPasty and to be fair it only takes a subscription to the thread to be able to find all the mags in one place at the touch of a button.

Realistically i'm not sure where else the click to win comps would fit in? They would soon get lost on the main board, it would mean another 50 or so needing to be added/deleted from the daily thread if they went there, so I think this is why generally people agreed they should sit in with the mags so they can all be found together?

Comping Cat please don't think I am directly having a go at you, because I can assure you a I am not, it's just a shame that if so many people feel so strongly about this thread it's generally only you that speaks up about it x

This is the second time i have commented on the magazine thread, so not that often.

All your points, while valid, are purely for the convenience of those few who want to run the additional sub boards - and you keep forgetting my point that the majority do not bother with the Compers Chat board - the last time there was a major blow out on this forum it was decided that all competitions had to be listed on the main board (this is one of the reasons we no longer have a monthly sub board because of all the work and missed competitions) - but putting the magazines all together like this is not listing them on the main board, like i said, imagine you are a new comper and you go into that thread, can you honestly tell me you would find it easy and convenient?

Im not going to comment again, i have work to do and ive got to post the Real Deal, which i havnt done yet because of commenting on this thread and quite frankly, i dont want to get into another argument, i shouldn't have commented this morning, but i had no idea that this debate had happened and been decided on.

I made a comment on a question on the chat corner & it turned out to be a 4-5 page debate :rotfl:

I don't actually disagree with you that people don't know where the regular board is & so don't get to enter all the comps a day they might be able to.

To be honest this is easier for me, but I am willing to forgo being easier for me so more people can enter. I have no problem with that.

What I had a problem with is the comment you left:

It was a inflaming post. You could of asked why the click & win comps are on the daily mag thread.

It's your choice to use the daily mag thread or not, no one elses.
