USA Debt Ceiling crisis could roil financial markets. Anyone selling up equities or just going to ride it out or see what happens?

Could be some buying opportunities coming up??

The markets will have serious wobbles if there's any other bad news flow, the USA will take it to brink and beyond (cost savings? more tax? a bit of both? nether!) and then extent their overdraft facility just they always do.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

There seem to be a few buying opportunities on the table.

Also Carnival Cruises down near 6%
  • Its ironic but its best if no debt ceiling move. This means less spending and so a more stable spending regime.
This is a government receiving large amounts in taxes, it only means they should stop increasing borrowing on top of that.

Last time we had this, the USA debt rose in price which helped them further anyway. Its unpredictable, if confidence was seriously lost this means lower dollar and a positive for share prices denoted in that currency

I agree, but it's like saying that the best thing for a junkie is to stop taking drugs.

I've got my crystal ball out. The clouds are clearing...

Nothing will be done until the very last second at which point a temporary deal will be struck that satisfies nobody and which just postpones the problem for a few months more.

    Surely that can't be right?
