Hi Gemdoll, your soup sounds delicious. I've actually managed to get my washing on the line today. I don't have a tumble dryer so i have to make the most of any dry days.

Hi Gemdoll, welcome to the forum (I'm a bit late I know!) Like the look of your thread so far, I love talking about food :rotfl:
Off to Google tiny house living. Very intrigued - must admit to finding it pretty stressful when we were doing it. Good luck with your journey!Updating soon...0 -
Courgette I usually talk quite a lot about food...:o:rotfl:0

Meant to say soup was delicious and there are enough left overs for lunch for me for the next two days.

Loaf of bread in the breadmaker using doves farm flour now so it's ready for toast tomorrow as the children like to have a slice after cereal at breakfast.
It's grey and dark outside now, perfect night for staying warm under blankets on the sofa!0 -
Dear Gemdoll, nice to "meet" you" Have you popped over to the "old style" board where we talk about frugal living; lots of recipes & ideas!
I hope that where you live you can find people to barter with - formally or informally.
I have a small freezer; sometimes at this time of year I wish it was larger, but I have salted runner beans and bottled apples. I have also experimented with drying apple slices (I was given the apples). I use them to sweeten porridge, but they are lovely to eat as a snack.0 -

I will pop over there and take a look again, sometimes I find this board quite overwhelming as there is so much to read, I feel like a very teeny tiny fish in a very large pond :rotfl:
Your salted runner beans sound amazing! And how did you bottle apples? My sister has a huge apple tree...0 -
You know the £20 I saved from last food shop (spending only £50 rather than usual budgeted £70?) just over payed that in Nationwide this morning. It felt so good!:T0
