I'll be making chocolate bouquets or hampers for my girls this year, my youngest who'll be just three has a severe peanut/tree nut allergy and it's a struggle to find anything that's safe for her unless you spend a fortune. I'd rather make her one using a selection of her favourite safe chocolates and sweets as it'll not only be cheaper but we won't be left with a cupboard full of chocolate they dislike. I might even throw in some homemade goodies too, she loves my gooey chocolate cookies :)

    Hi
my daughter too has a severe nut/tree nut allergy so wont eat anything out of a selection box incase it has touched a bar that has nuts in.

I have been making my own selection packs for a couple of years now. I buy multipacks of chocolate from supermarket and put one bar of each multipack into a home made velvety drawstring pouch. The kids loved them-even a friend of mine has requested one. :)

Ah bless her. It's hard finding novelty Christmas chocolate that's safe for them isn't it? I think I'm going to look for a Santa/snowman mould and make her some treats myself x

I made my kids chocolate bouquets last year (see the avatar :D) as DS is a coeliac and there's always bars in the selection boxes that have gluten in, went down very well

What a fab idea! Might try these :)
Make candy cane sleighs. - I did this last year for my staff and they were thrilled.

I bought the makings in Asda using multi packs - each sleigh had 2 candy canes, 1 kitkat, 3 Kinder bars, 3 Freddo bars, 2 Asda 10p chocolates and a Lindt mini teddy. Bit of ribbon and some double sided sellotape -Cost £1.69 each to make.

Lots of posts on here about them and if you google it there are quite detailed instructions in a blog called Ellen's place.

This sounds like a really fantastic idea! I've never thought of it before and have just bought the shop standard selection boxes.
