Hi All,
I have just ordered the TalkTalk phone/unlimited BB deal online for £7ish per month as per Martin's weekly newsletter. As this is the first ever time I have swapped phone / BB I could do with your advice with regards to what happens etc...
My phone line is currently with BT, I had paid upfront LRS which expires on 29th Sept (this Sunday). My BB is with O2 (but is going to be switched to Sky early next month). My BB is currently on a monthly rolling contract as I have had it for a good few years.
I have had order confirmation from TT saying I should "GO LIVE" on 8th Oct. I have requested to keep the same phone number.
SO...
I have not yet contacted either BT or O2 to say I am leaving. From the order confirmation from TT they seem to handle everything...BUT...do they? Should I contact my current providers and give notice to avoid any termination charges etc? (I keep reading all these horror stories of cease charges etc and this is worrying me)
TT have NOT asked me for a MAC code (should I be asking for one from O2 anyway?), however O2 have sent me a text message to say they note that I am moving my phone line and if that is the case they will suspend my BB.
Any advice on what I need to do to make this a "STRESS FREE" move would be most appreciated from you all!

If a MAC isn't used you will probably get a cease charge. Never rely on the incoming supplier to give notice on your behalf, do it yourself now you have a migration date. 30 days notice is normally required.
I'd say to O2 that as you are leaving anyway, you wish to delay the migration date. Pointless being moved to Sky just before moving to TT.
If all works, then fine, If it doesn't, then you will then find out why TT are so cheap. Good luck!No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thank you Macman, will contact O2 today and let them know. Appreciate your advice!!0
