    Morning all,
Had an unintentional lie-in as DH is off on a course and was out early so I rolled over and .... well, I must have needed it as I am now awake regularly around 3 am for about an hour each night for no obvious reason, eg pain.

It's warm and dry but not sunny, so I'm off to town for a look at the 'bright lights' and to pick up some special sausages in the market.

    TTFTM - thinking of you.

Have a great day all x
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

It's a misty autumn day here this morning....lovely! DD's and hubby decluttered off to school/work and today is my ME day. Woo hoo. :D
I am off to weightwatchers this morning for my first weigh-in (my knees are knocking thinking about it) then i'm going to our new Wetherspoons for a lunch and a date with my kindle and then I have a ladies church thing in the afternoon. I really need a day out of the house and away from visitors lovely as they are.

I have sorted out some paperwork I need photocopied to take to town with me and I also have to buy cards for my three nieces and sister who have birthdays in the first week of October. It's a very expensive month . Finally, DD13 informed me that she need to make a lasagne tomorrow in food tech so I have to go and get the ingredients too. Blimey, I'll need a lie-down :rotfl::rotfl:

The chinese chicken I made for dinner last night was a resounding success, clean plates all round so I will definitely make that again.
Liver and onion gravy with mash and kale for tea tonight with sausages for the non-liver eaters:D

I managed to have another play with my steam cleaner and was very impressed and horrified at the amount of muck removed. I won't have time to do much today but will get the spuds peeled and race around tidying the living room so at least it's nice for when I get back home.

Well, that's all my waffling for today. Gentle hugs for all who would like one especially TTFTM as it sounds awful what you are going through. Take care.
    Cheers m'dears x

Fish fed, hubby fed and dropped at work, I've had porridge and 2 cups of tea.
Dr's appointment for me at 11 today, hopefully I'll be allowed back to work, at least part time. I need to make a cake for the Macmillan sale at work tomorrow, I will make a lemon curd cake and maybe a nutella one as well.
Last night we had fish in cheese sauce with HG new pots and HG veg, I cooked extra potatoes and today were having ham (I bought a joint and sliced it) with saute pots and HG veg.
Pay day tomorrow so I must remember to do the transfers so the bills get paid.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning,
Just started raining here,so no washing out for me,feels cooler too :( Tonights tea is already sorted, realised i had a pack of beef in the fridge that needed cooking so put it in the slow cooker at tea time and it was ready by bed time-just need some mash or something later.

Took DGD on our little park for half an hour after tea,she didnt want to come home.Unfortunately she wanted a wee and the slide got wet :o-had to dry it off with her cardigan:rotfl:Well she's only2 tomorrow and is doing pretty well normally. We will be having a birthday celebration with her on Friday as her Mum wants a little 'do' at home with her tomorrow.

I've booked Lylapup into puppy classes starting next week-should be fun, on the vets recommendation as she will be a big dog.Have to send the booking form off so will do that shortly.

    TTFTM- big hugs
    Hilstep-welcome back,glad you're on the mend.
Hugs to people not feeling well x

    Morning All,

Again many thanks for yesterday's birthday wishes. The highlight for me was my 3yo DGS singing "Happy Birthday" to me at 8am - what a start to a day! :T

Well for those that asked about our holiday, here is a precis of the highlights:-

Well came home from Canada with a very positive feeling towards our very friendly and helpful Canadians.
Banff is a beautiful town and a massive thanks is due to two strangers from Edmonton who picked up our $60 bar tab unknown to us, following an hour chat about their holiday to N.I. last year.
Our trip 15,000 feet up the Athabasca glacier and then walking on it was one of the highlights of the holiday.
The two day trip on the Rocky Mountaineer gave us lots of fantastic photo opportunities.
Vancouver's Stanley Park (5 times size of Hyde Park) is a must see.
The cruise to Alaska gave us an insight to how the settlers/gold rush people lived and worked! The last day was a trip to Glacier Bay, which made fascinating viewing.Should be classed as one of the wonders of the world, just a pity it is melting at an alarming rate.
Our last stop was at Victoria, Vancouver Island, where lots of well heeled Brits have retired to. There are some areas where £1m might just buy you a medium size house.
    Definitely a holiday of a lifetime. :j

Glad to be back to plain simple meals though after three weeks of 4/5 * cuisine meals.

Now we have a big party to organise and prepare for on Saturday, to celebrate OH/my 60ths and my retirement on Monday. Approx 130 to be catered for and of course you all have a virtual invite  God knows what state that Judi one will get herself into with a free bar!

Have a good day everyone
  • Hill step we have windows 8 on a couple of laptops here. I hated it so DH reprogrammed mine back to windows 7 lol.
