Using Internet Banking To Transfer Money

Hi, Hope this is the right place for this question. I bank with HSBC and would like to transfer some money to a Santander account, not my account. Would the bank, or indeed any bank charge me a fee to transfer my money to a different bank. Basically I just want to know if the banks will charge a fee for me moving my money. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

No, they will not.0

Just be absolutely certain that you type in the correct account number and sort code. If you make a mistake and it ends up in someone else's account, you have lost the money and there is usually nothing to be done.0

Test transaction for £1. Check it reaches destination.
Then send the rest.0 -
Also, watch out for the Faster Payments limit.
I think (but am not fortunate enough to know as the limits are well into the thousands
) that if you need to transfer over this amount you have to use other means which may incur a fee. 0 -
you are limited to £10,000 per day but that just means you would need to split larger payments over multiple days (am paying for large building project so I know about this one)I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans
