Vodafone in Corfu

 While in Corfu,i tried to connect to Vodafone but couldnt as it said no service.I connected to another service and Vodafone text me saying call us on 5555 it will be cheaper. After lots of attemps to call but no connection i finally got them in another part of the island. After 14 mins of complete drivvel and told they couldnt help me i gave up.Back home on my bill,i was charged 75p for every attempt on 5555 and 75p a min for my 14 min call plus a 75p connection charge.Beware they rip you off.Im looking for a better deal.

Yes, Vodafone Passport rates only apply if you are on the local Vodafone network, not much help it has no signal where you are

If you're going there again, get the phone unlocked, buy a local SIM card (not Vodafone I suppose), and using a callback service with it will probably be cheaper than its own int'l rates

Or get an O2 pay&go SIM, and go for My Europe Extra. This costs £10 a month, then calls are 25p/min outgoing, free incoming, and this applies on any roamed network in most of Europe. You can use a callback service to get cheaper outgoing rates.
  • Cheers ,ill not bother taking it next time, ill use the girlfriends pay as you go on O2.She had no problems at all.Best of it is there is a Vodafone shop in Corfu and they havent got a clue.
